Companies only pay shit wages so that they can make more profit and pay their executives exorbidant benefits. It's currently exploitation, not for lower prices, but for more profit.

If companies have no workers to pick their product or do the dirty jobs, they will have to increase wages to make the work worth doing or invest in mechanisms that assist the labor more efficient, or go out of business and be replaced by one that will.

If companies cannot sell their product because they are charging too much due to the increased costs (aka, paying living wages), then they will have to adjust their outlook on how much profit they can make and how much they pay their executives, or go out of business and be replaced by one that will.

Repeat for every industry.

Wages increase, profits decrease, prices equalize -or those corrupt, greedy businesses go out of business and are replaced by ones that will be more reasonable with their workers and profit expectations.
