The "Q-Thing" is so big now that they cannot longer hide or ignore it. Therefore they have to attack it. Rather than honouring Q, by trying to debunk this, they chose to report about conspiracy-apps, which allowed them to mention Q, telling their audience that this is a conspiracy theory like many others 8not special, not important) and to find it dangerous, disgusting and to call it "trash" that should be removed by better, more effective algorithms.
They didn't dare to attack Q directly, because they cannot dare to debunk what q writes.
Therefore they chose this angle, to discredit Q.
What does it tell us?
They decided that they HAVE to cover Q somehow.
They are scared to cover Q's messages.
