Honestly the bible has always confused me, especially this part.

 

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

 

if god created the earth then how is it formless, then it clicked.

line 1 is the title of the entry, line 2 starts the story

 

Therefor the Bible should be titled "In the Beginning God Created the Heavens and The Earth"

and the First sentence of genesis should be

1.1 The earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

 

makes a whole hell of lot of logic than your interpretations. thank you.
