CORRUPTION: Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs Pays $700,000 in Taxpayer Money for New State Logo, Director of Tourism Caught Funneling Logo Contract and Other Large Contracts to Her Own Company

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, who stole the 2022 election from Kari Lake, has come under scrutiny once again over state contract decisions after her Office of Tourism awarded a $700,000 contract for a new state logo to a company with close ties to the agency’s director.

And the logo is terrible. Not only does it not make sense or have any of the colors typically associated with Arizona or the state flag–copper, red, yellow, navy blue–but it’s just hideous.

Here’s what taxpayers in Arizona paid $700,000 for:

The logo is part of a woke initiative to incorporate “American Indian/Native American/Indigenous customs, traditions, values, beliefs and culture.”

This is not the first time Hobbs has come under fire for her unethical and potentially illegal use of tax dollars.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this year, questions arose about an apparent bribery scheme involving large donations made to the Democratic Party and a dark money group that was used for Hobbs’ inaugural events. This appears to have influenced Hobbs on awarding state contracts to the highest bidder in unrelated contributions.

Per State Senator Jake Hoffman:

AZ Democrat @KatieHobbs approved illegally shelling out $700,000 for a new state logo

Hobbs' fake director of tourism has been caught funneling MASSIVE contracts to her own brother.

@realTomHorne is wrapped up in this scandal too

As reported by the Arizona Agenda, @GovernorHobbs' "Office of Tourism shelled out $700,000 to create a new state logo this year."

"And of all the artists in the state who could have drafted that logo, the contract just happened to go to one who has close ties to the Office of Tourism Director Lisa Urias" — her brother.

…"Now, the state tourism department is working with an $8 million budget to persuade people to come here, and tourism spending is a huge driver for Arizona’s economy."

"The appointment seems to have been an economic driver for Urias Communications as well."

"More than a year after Urias became the tourism director, the Arizona Department of Education approved a $250,000, five-year contract with Urias Communications."

Now why would the Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Horne, be hiring an illegally installed Katie Hobbs' fake director's brother as his quarter million dollar, NO BID, marketing vendor??

Katie Hobbs continues to exploit her office, break the law, and take advantage of the people of Arizona.

This is what it looks like when Democrats are in control of your government.

Hoffman took a poll on X, asking, "Do you think taxpayers should have forked over $700,000 for this logo?" As of writing, 97% of the 1,171 respondents voted "No! Waste of money & ugly"

Let’s take a poll on @KatieHobbs’ new logo

Do you think taxpayers should have forked over $700,000 for this logo?

More from Arizona Agenda:

The Office of Tourism spent the $700,000, which came from federal pandemic relief funds, on 57 in-person and digital listening sessions across the state, not to mention the $27,500 that went to the brother of the CEO of Urias’ marketing agency. He helped work on the logo with a separate graphic design company.

And Urias Communications has another state contract.

“It's clearly an ethical violation. Whether or not it's a legal violation is another issue,” Sen. John Kavanagh said after we briefed him on the situation.

But even if she isn’t involved with the day-to-day operations of the company that she founded, Urias seems to be financially benefiting from the state’s contract with her company at the same time she is pulling a salary from the state.

It is unlikely the corrupt Democrat Attorney General, who also stole her election, will do anything about this.

In a major development out of New York, Steven Cheung, the communications director for President Trump’s transition team, celebrated a decisive victory in the ongoing Manhattan criminal case. “President Trump won a landslide victory,” Cheung declared, highlighting that the case has now been “fully stayed” and sentencing has been adjourned. This decision marks a significant win for Trump, with Cheung emphasizing that the “hoax” surrounding the Manhattan cases has effectively been shut down.

Steve Bannon broke the news on the Friday WarRoom:

Cheung described the ruling as a clear mandate from the American people, reinforcing Trump’s position to “return to office” and dismantle what he called the remnants of “the Witch Hunt cases” that have plagued the president. He further argued that all the attacks by what he termed “sham law firms” against Trump are now nullified.

The focus now shifts to Trump’s broader agenda, with Cheung asserting, “We are focused on making America great again.” This development adds to the mounting momentum for Trump’s 2024 campaign, as his team looks to push forward with their vision of reclaiming the White House and dismantling the legal battles that have overshadowed his political career.

This statement from Steven Cheung provides a sense of confidence and optimism for the Trump campaign, signaling a shift towards future goals as the legal landscape begins to evolve in their favor.

John Thune and Mitch McConnell’s grip on the Senate GOP grew tighter this week when it was announced that Mitch McConnell would be the Senate Rules Committee Chairman for the next two years. Thune recently replaced McConnell as GOP Senate Leader. McConnell has long groomed Thune to succeed him as GOP Senate Leader, even donating to Thune numerous times. It is important to note that Thune and McConnell have made negative comments regarding the Senate Recess appointments for President Trump’s nominees. McConnell also announced that he would be Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. McConnell and Thune have supported numerous Ukraine spending measures backed by Biden, Kamala, and Schumer. It seems globalists are positioning themselves to obstruct President Trump’s agenda.

John Thune seems to be rewarding his old friend Mitch McConnell, who announced that he would be Chairman of the powerful Senate Rules Committee and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. McConnell’s new committeeships mean that he will have a significant say in the Senate’s day-to-day operations and defense bills.

McConnell’s statement announcing his new chairmanship reads, “America’s national security interests face the gravest array of threats since the Second World War. At this critical moment, a new Senate Republican majority has a responsibility to secure the future of U.S. leadership and primacy. I intend to play an active role in this urgent mission as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, and I look forward to working closely with incoming Chair Susan Collins to accomplish our shared goal. The Senate Rules Committee will also have important work to accomplish in the 119th Congress, and I look forward to leading it as Chairman. Defending the Senate as an institution and protecting the right to political speech in our elections remain among my longest-standing priorities. Ranking Member Deb Fischer has done an outstanding job advancing these causes, and I know she will remain a key partner in the committee’s ongoing work.”

federal judge in Washington on Friday reduced the prison sentence of a Proud Boy member for his role in the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill by one year, despite the man's behavior during his sentencing.

Marc Bru, who was one of over 1,500 protesters charged with crimes stemming from the riot, publicly berated Chief Judge James Boasberg during his sentencing in January. Bru called Boasberg a “clown” and a “fraud” and said he was presiding over a “kangaroo court," at the time.

Boasberg resentenced Bru to five years in prison on Friday, after removing an obstruction charge due to a Supreme Court ruling that limited who could be charged with the crime, per the Associated Press. Bru has served 15 months of the sentence so far.

The judge admitted that Bru was not one of the most violent protesters, but claimed his behavior afterward was “the worst I think I’ve seen of anyone." Bru did not lob more insults at the judge during his resentencing.

“In my 22 years as a judge, I’ve never seen a defendant say the things he said at sentencing,” Boasberg said in court.

Bru was at the Capitol that day as a member of the Proud Boys extremist group and pushed a barricade against police officers. He later went inside the Capitol complex and into the Senate gallery. He was convicted of seven charges, including two felonies, for his role that day.

Some presidential elections are decided by tactical moves: a stronger ground game to get out the vote, for example, or by superior media messaging. Donald Trump’s sweeping victory over Kamala Harris was none of those things. It was strategic and epochal—far beyond the reach of mere maneuvering by Harris or her team.

On November 5, a strange patchwork coalition, with scant resemblance to the traditional Republican Party, overwhelmed the massed institutional forces of the progressive establishment and the Democratic Party. That misfit coalition won not just the White House, but the Senate and the House. Votes are still being counted as I write this, but the consequences will be social and cultural as much as they are political.

Speculation has centered on what, beyond the obvious partisan reversal, actually transpired at the polls. Was it the triumph, long foretold, of digital over traditional media? Of restless young bros over scolding cat ladies? Of outraged “normies” over our arrogant and out-of-touch elites?

In my view, it was all of that plus one crucial thing more: the improbable elevation of Trump from the carnival barker of our politics to the leader of a potent cultural movement that is set to reshape many aspects of American life.

The Collapse of Old Media

The campaign saw the news media, as an institution, take a giant leap toward irrelevance—and ultimate extinction. From The New York Times to CBS News, the grand old brands of the industry gambled what shreds of trust remained in them—31 percent by one measure—to exert influence on behalf of Democratic candidates and progressive positions. They lost the public’s trust, yet failed to move the needle. What was left?
