8 U.S. Code § 1324(iii) is a part of the law that prohibits concealing, harboring, or shielding an alien who has entered the United States illegally:
Concealing, harboring, or shielding: It is a crime to knowingly conceal, harbor, or shield an alien who has entered the United States illegally. This includes providing shelter, food, or other assistance.
Penalties: Penalties for violating this law include fines, imprisonment, or both.
Other parts of 8 U.S. Code § 1324 include:
• Encouraging illegal entry: It is illegal to encourage aliens to enter the United States illegally.
• Conspiring with others: It is a federal crime to conspire with others to bring unauthorized aliens into the United States.
• Knowingly hiring unauthorized aliens: It is a crime for an employer to knowingly hire ten or more unauthorized aliens within a 12-month period.
