Disney is recruiting Americans to relocate to China to make $10/hr teaching kids. No experience required, and any type of bachelor degree is fine. Scary.

Do you think this is just Disney trying to stamp its brand on Chinese minds as young as possible, or a front for something more creepy? Anyone with inside knowledge about this?

On a side note, I have heard that almost all Teach English Overseas jobs are notoriously bad for the poor suckers who sign up to be the teachers.

"…Uniformed men began to seize all foreigners, and Chris realized he might be in serious trouble. The officers from Chengdu's Public Security Bureau pulled the foreigners out for questioning one by one. Disney English had apparently failed to register for work permits in the city, leaving the teachers accused of illegal immigration to China. 'Just trust Disney that we have your backs and we'll take care of you.' That's all they ever said, Chris recalls."
