after 17 years I've retired the old strands of early generation LED bulbs and purchased new strands that are brighter and not janky, like the old ones seem to be after all these years.

the old ones still work but I just felt that I needed new. Hopefully these new ones will last for 17 years!

I had long before retired the incandescent C7 strands and gone to a small format incandescent that was common back in the 1990s, and 2000-ohs. I was able to determine when I retired those smaller format incandescents by looking through old photographs.

when I stoped using the C7 incandescent I do not know.

out side, 30 years ago, I would use the C9 incandescent strands. I still have some of them but they sit in a bin and haven't been used in years. I tested how much power they draw last year ( I think).

ONE c9 incandescent bulb draws more power than a whole strand of LED bulbs!

I used to run over a hundred of those. Imagine how much energy that used to use!

I'm thinking of getting C9 LED strands for outside, or maybe this year I'll use the janky 17 year old LED lights outside.
