This is a stark example of the precarious journey these children make from their home country & how criminal organizations traffic these children across the southern border & further into the interior.

Regardless of political views, it is unacceptable for any child to be exposed to dangerous criminal trafficking networks. With a record number of unaccompanied children and hundreds of thousands missing, there is no one ensuring the safety & security of these children except for the men & women who are on the frontlines daily. Western Europe ‘at war’ with Russia – ex-MI6 chief

The UK should be on alert for possible acts of sabotage, Richard Dearlove has warned

Ridge noted that Moscow had blacklisted dozens of UK officials earlier this week and asked Dearlove how the British government should respond.

At the same time, given the “extraordinary” nature of the conflict, the UK should keep some lines of communication open. “It’s probably better to have some sort of dialogue with them than no contact at all,” he said.

The US-led NATO bloc has been locked into a hybrid war against Russia and its backers, with the shaping of the “new world order” being at stake, deputy chief of the Allied Command Transformation (ACT), General Christian Badia, has said.

Children younger than 16 are set to be banned from social media, with federal parliament poised to enact the world-first legislation.

The Senate is expected on Thursday to pass the laws that would ban young people from platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, with the bill having bipartisan support.

However, there has been concern the proposal has been rushed through parliament without proper scrutiny, given Australia would be the first country to implement such a ban.

The ban would come into effect one year after the laws pass the parliament, with trials of age-verification technology still being carried out.

Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said the age limit would keep children safe online.

'We know parents are concerned about the harms to children and we have taken a decision to support them,' she told parliament.

'Keeping Australians safe online requires decisive action and the Albanese government is delivering exactly that.'

An inquiry into the laws ran for just three hours, with people only given one day to hand in submissions, while critics said there was a lack of consultation with young people themselves.
