Here is the dealio with 3,6,9…

 

1+1 = 2

2+2 = 4

4+4 = 8

8+8 = 16 = 1+6 = 7

16+16 = 32 = 3+2 = 5

32+32 = 64 = 6+4 = 10 = 1+0 = 1

64+64 =128 128 = 1+2+8 = 11 = 1+1 = 2

128+128 = 256 = 2+5+6 = 13 = 1+3 = 4

 

So we have a repeating pattern of 1,2,4,8,7,5 with no 3's, 6's, or 9's. This is called the doubling theorem…
