there's crazy math involved in just simple ssl and blockchain transactions. if he wrote his own software, not relying on of the shelf or nsa supplied algos, PhD isn't off-base.

not for nothing, but even a working knowledge, not formalized, can qualify as "PhD level".

 

the things you do today, the solutions you come up with using the tools at your disposal - while perhaps not formalized or recognized by a panel of professorsโ€ฆ if it's novel and progresses your industry, it matters. smart work on top of smart work. that's all we can do.
