Why would Hunter do anything for Joe? The cash cow is gone and it's not like joe is even his real father. The original Joe is long gone.
It's more likely Hunter planted the laptop to be found to take them all down.
Joe and company killed his mother and sister. The new Joe is no relation.
Hunter can testify against all of them and walk away a free man.
