Theory from a Benefits Insurance Broker for 28 years. UHC is probably the most corrupt benefits company of all time. The numerous lawsuits on every arm of UHC, and the penalties have been in the billions for years.Recently they implemented and programmed AI to deny almost every Medicare claim that was processed through their Medicare units, which are huge. Don't be surprised if it's in the group and individual medical and ancillary products. Dental, vision, disability etc. They grind every member on claims until the member gives up.
I don't know but the CEO may have found out what the lower level execs have been doing, behind his back for years, or he released the beast himself. I have no doubt that the lower level wanted him out because he was trying to stop the scams due to the volume of lawsuits, and they decided to take him out. Or it was his plan all along and others didn't like it (less likely, because its the most corrupt insurance company ever. Billion dollars of fines don't even slow them down). It's obvious someone knew where he was going and perhaps why.
(If you have UHC for any line of insurance, don't try to fight with the company, call the State Insurance Dept and file a claim. You will never get reconciliation working with the reps, they are all trained to lie and put you off.)
