Russia ready for Trump’s peace proposals – deputy FM

Moscow will consider the US president-elect’s ideas but will not compromise on its national interests, Sergey Ryabkov has warned

Russia is open to hearing US President-elect Donald Trump’s plans for resolving the Ukraine conflict, but has not yet received any concrete proposals, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has told CNN.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he will end the fighting between Russia and Ukraine in just 24 hours once he assumes office. However, since his victory in the presidential election last month,Moscow has not had any direct contact with Trump or his team regarding the issue, Ryabkov said. (That’s funny when I read the title, I thought they were already in contact, I still do.)

The diplomat stressed that Russia will examine the future US president’s ideas once he is ready to present them, but stressed that Moscow will under no circumstances compromise on its core national interests.

In the interview, Ryabkov also said there iscurrently “zero” chance of a compromise between Moscow and Kiev, as the positions laid out by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky appear to be “incompatible.”

“The moment people in Kiev begin to understand there’s no way Russia will go the way they suggested – there might be openings and opportunities,” the diplomat told CNN. (Putin doesn’t bluff, Zelensky lies and bluffs constantly)

Ryabkov also stated that thecurrent geopolitical tensions between Russia and the West are at an unprecedented level, even compared to the height of the Cold War, and expressed concern that the associated risks continue to grow.

The deputy minister cautioned that there is “no magic solution” to the conflict and accused the West of lacking common sense, restraint and “sober analysis,” while underestimating Russia’s resolve to defend its core security interests.

“We have not lost our senses. We will not let ourselves be provoked into anything,” Ryabkov said, adding that Russia nevertheless has the “stamina and strong will” to defend its national interest “with all means,” regardless of how much money the US burns in the conflict, or what “people in the EU believe they should do to support Kiev.”

“We will prevail there, no doubt,”the diplomat said.

Ryabkov went on to stress that Russia could eventually be forced to resort to “even stronger military means” than it has so far, if Washington fails to recognize that“Moscow cannot be pressurized indefinitely.”

He also issued a warning to the outgoing Biden administration, stressing that Russia would respond to any provocations and “find a way to assert our strong will.”

Zelensky’s top aide holding talks with Trump’s team

Andrey Yermak is telling the president-elect’s inner circle that Kiev won’t stand in the way of peace

Vladimir Zelensky’s right-hand manAndrey Yermak is trying to convince people close to US President-elect Donald Trump that Kiev could endorse his peace plans rather than being an obstacle, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. The Republican has claimed that he can resolve the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours after he returns to the Oval Office in January.

Yermak, the chief of staff to the Ukrainian leader, is visiting the US to meet key figures picked by Donald Trump for his future administration, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and multiple news outlets have said.

According to the WSJ, Kiev has arranged contacts with Susie Wiles, the co-chair of Trump’s election campaign who has been tapped to becomeWhite House chief of staff, Keith Kellogg, who Trump has picked to be a special envoy to Ukraine, and Mike Waltz, the incoming national security adviser. (Kellogg will not be deceived)

Prior to the November presidential election, Zelensky caused a GOP backlash by visiting an arms factory in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, where he was received by Democrats. Republicans have accused the Ukrainian leader of campaigning for their rivals, with House Speaker Mike Johnson demanding that Kiev sack its ambassador to Washington, who organized the trip.

The lobbying attempt by Yermak comes as Ukrainian forces are suffering from battlefield defeatsand a shortage of reinforcements. In recent remarks, Zelensky has acknowledged that his country cannot beat Russia militarily and expressed a desire to restore control over all territories Kiev claims through diplomatic efforts.

According to CNN, Kiev has ordered the troops which occupy part of Kursk Region in Russia to hold on at all costs until Trump’s January 20 inauguration.

The operation, which has resulted in almost 38,000 Ukrainian casualties, according to Kremlin estimates, was meant to secure a bargaining chip in future talks.Trump’s transition team has reportedly proposed freezing hostilities along the current front line and suspending Ukraine’s bid to join NATO for at least a decade.

Moscow has said that no peace negotiations will happen as long as Ukrainian forces remain in Kursk Region. NATO’s intention to welcome Ukraine was a key cause of the conflict, Russian officials have maintained.

In his view, the CIA might very well have sent a highly trained Ukrainian diving teamto the Baltic Sea exactly as the Western media reported, though only to plant fake bombs. In his words, "when a cover story is made, it is done quite well. We shouldn't belittle the experience of the CIA or the experience of MI6 in preparing cover operations. They have quite a lot of experience in using proxies, in using cover stories to form a certain position in order to dodge responsibility. This is actually what happened."

Looking forward, Derkach expects Ukraine to attempt more terrorist attacks against Russia, which the US public is being preconditioned to accept via the CIA's various leaks to the media. While many might lay the blame for all this on Zelensky's lap,Derkach believes that it's actually his Chief of Staff Andrey Yermak who's running the show, albeit as a Western puppet. Nevertheless, he's also convinced that the West is indeed preparing to formally replace Zelensky, but doesn't yet know when or with whom.

Russia’s top general speaks with US counterpart – MOD

The conversation between Valery Gerasimov and Charles Q. Brown Jr took place last week (Bidan cut this off shortly into the Ukraine fiasco, PDJT re-established the norms we’ve shared with Russia for decades)

Russia’s Chief of General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, had held a phone call with the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Charles Q. Brown Jr, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said. GeneralGerasimov last spoke with his American counterpart in March 2023.

The phone conversation between the countries’ top generals took place onNovember 27, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday, when Gerasimov warned Brown about missile exercises in the Mediterranean Sea.

“During the conversation, the US side was informed about the exercises in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea by the Russian Navy and Aerospace Forces groupings, involving live-fire drills and launches of high-precision missiles,” the statement read.

The warning was made by Gerasimov“to prevent possible incidentsin connection with the presence of US and NATO ships near the area of the Russian exercise,” it added.

The drills in question took place on Tuesday, when Russian vessels launchednew ship-based Tsirkon hypersonic missiles, the Defense Ministry said in a previous statement.

Earlier in the day, Brown’s spokesman, Captain JD Dorsey, confirmed media reports about the two military leaders holding a conversation a week ago.

Gerasimov and Brown “discussed a number of global and regional security issues, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine,” Dorsey told ABC.

“This was the first time the leaders spoke since General Brown became chairman” in October 2023==, he noted.

After the escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, Gerasimov communicated several times with Brown’s predecessor as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley.

The latest phone call remained undisclosed because “at the request of General Gerasimov, General Brown agreed to not proactively announce the call,” Dorsey said.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed US military and defense officials, that the two generals had“talked about how to manage escalation concerns between the two countries” during their conversation.

One of the sources claimed that they had discussed Russia’s recent use of a new Oreshnik medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile to strike a Ukrainian military-industrial facility last month.

According to Moscow, thedeployment of the state-of-the-art system was a response to Washington and its alliesallowingUkraine to target internationally recognized Russian territorywith the long-range weapons they supply to Kiev.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned at the time that, if the Ukrainian attacks deep inside Russia continue, the authorities in Moscow reserve the right “to use our weapons against military facilities of those countries that allow the use of their weapons against our facilities.” (Just like that, no more missiles from Ukraine.)
