Sadiq’s London: Knife crime at seven-year high in Britain, police not charging suspects

Crime in the UK has risen significantly. Figures released by the Office for National Statistics reveal a 12 per cent rise in homicides and 16 per cent increase in knife crimes. Homocides are now at their highest since 2008 in a violent crime wave in London and other UK cities.

Also released today by the Home Office are figures revealing that only in nine per cent of crimes are the suspects charged or summonsed with 48 per cent of cases being closed because the suspect could not be identified.

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg abruptly ended a segment on the television show featuring Fox News host Jeanine Pirro after the two got into a heated clash about President Trump.

Pirro was on the morning talk show promoting her book Liars, Leakers, and Liberals on Thursday.

“I’m not here to talk about what Donald Trump is and isn’t,” Pirro said. But Goldberg pushed her to answer whether she thought Trump is an “ideologue that is faithful to conservative policies.”

Virgin Islands governor's gun-confiscation plan probed by Republicans

Republican lawmakers are inquiring into an order from U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp that theoretically allowed the state to seize citizens’ firearms ahead of Hurricane Irma last year.

Rep. Rob Bishop, who chairs the House Natural Resources Committee, and Rep. Bob Goodlatte, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, sent Mapp, an independent, a letter Wednesday asking for clarification on an executive order he signed in September 2017 they said is still in effect.
