Al Sharpton floats Biden pardon for Dothan half-brother, pastor convicted of fraud, tax evasionCaleb Taylor | 12.06.24 (Kenneth Glasgow/Facebook)

After President Joe Biden’s recent pardon of his son, the list of names who might also get a pardon in the waning days of Biden’s tenure keeps growing.

Add Kenneth Glasgow, a Dothan pastor and Al Sharpton’s half-brother, to that list.

Sharpton said on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" on Thursday that Biden should consider pardoning Glasgow who wassentenced to 2.5 years in federal prison in July 2023 for tax evasion, mail fraud and drug conspiracy charges. (And J6’ers get two years for walking into the Capitol, so fair ain’t it? A lady 75 years old, was sent to jail for 4 years for praying at an Abortion Clinic….)

“From the civil rights community, we’ve been saying he ought to be pardoning people like Marilyn Mosby, who was the prosecutor in Baltimore, Jesse Jackson Jr. the congressman. I have a brother in Alabama who was doing civil work, Reverend Kenny Glasgow. We’re looking at people that need pardons that have come out and done well, served the community. That ought to be the standard. I think to forecast what people may face I think is something that should be discussed, but I would hope he also looks at pardoning people that have maybe made a mistake but turned around and done the right thing. That’s what pardons are for, and I think we should not pervert that,” Sharpton said.

Glasgow pleaded guilty to the crimes on Feb. 24, 2023.

According to court documents, Glasgow founded two nonprofit organizations, The Ordinary Peoples Society and Prodigal Child Project.

He then solicited donations from other nonprofits and foundations, representing to them and to the IRS that he would use those donations for charitable purposes. Instead,Glasgow withdrew $407,450 in cash from the accounts of one of his nonprofit organizations in 2018.

Glasgow used the money for his own benefit and was thus required to report the funds as income on his tax return. However, Glasgow failed to file a return for that year. In an attempt to conceal this activity, Glasgow provided erroneous information to his tax preparer, causing the preparer to complete IRS forms for Glasgow's nonprofit organizations that vastly understated the income of the organizations and omitted the financial benefits Glasgow received from them. From 2016 to 2019, Glasgow withdrew a total of $1,300,848.54 in cash from The Ordinary Peoples Society and Prodigal Child Project, never accounting for that money on the nonprofits' IRS forms or any tax returns of his own.

Glasgow also mailed documents containing false statementsto the Social Security Administrationso that he could continue receiving Social Security disability benefitsand related health benefits under the Medicare and Medicaid programs. These statements described his physical abilities and daily activities as being very limited despite reporting that he worked 50 to 60 hours per week for his nonprofits on the nonprofits' IRS forms.

In some Social Security forms, Glasgow falsely claimed that his physical limitations were so severe that he had difficulty driving and had to ride with someone. According to court records, Glasgow admitted to leasing a vehicle using funds from one of his nonprofits and listed himself as the sole authorized driver. In addition,Glasgow received traffic citations relating to approximately 27 different traffic stops between February 5, 2015, and August 11, 2020. All of the citations indicated that Glasgow was the driver.

This article makes me freaking angry, knowing J6’ers and innocent Christians are being jailed and persecuted for and Sharpton want’s a pardon for this guy?

WTF is Sharpton not in jail for never paying back taxes? They always claim they are supporting Civil Right, to steal, cheat and lie.

The Hidden Logic of Trump’s National Security Picks

Trump seems to be a moderating influence on hawks and a resolving influence on restrainers.

Lyle GoldsteinDec 6, 202412:03 AM

As President-elect Donald Trump announces his selections for cabinet posts, there is a definite pattern of choosing figures from outside the political mainstream. That is perhaps understandable for a candidate that had many cabinet-level appointments turn abruptly against him in his first term. Some of the selections even seem to constitute brazen challenges to the nation’s governing elite and their institutions. To be sure, these unconventional choices also reflect Trump’s new power deriving from his significant electoral victory—taking all seven battleground states, the popular vote, and both chambers of Congress.

In the national security realm, Trump has promised the American people “peace through strength” and found widespread support for this formula, which may hark back to the golden era of Ronald Reagan. And that’s one consistent theme among all of his foreign policy choices, who come from a variety of backgrounds.

Several of the picks could be considered classic conservative “hawks” in that they have continuously advocated for military escalation against rivals. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), nominated to the key positions of secretary of state and national security advisor respectively, certainly fit in this category.Nonetheless, we can already see examples of Trump’s unique approach influencing his top advisors. Thus, Waltz actually decried President Joe Biden’s recent decision to allow Ukraine to fire U.S.-made missiles directly into Russian territory: “This is another step up the escalation ladder, and no one knows where this is going.”

Two other picks in the national security domain, Peter Hegseth for secretary of defense and Tulsi Gabbard for the director of national intelligence, correspond more closely with Trump’s vision for American foreign policy. Notably, they are both from a National Guard background, which may partially explain their shared strong inclination against U.S. military interventions abroad. Hegseth, for instance, endorsed a law in New Hampshire that would prohibit sending National Guard troops into conflicts overseas without the constitutionally mandated declaration of war from Congress.Hegseth, a veteran-turned–Fox News defense analyst, was one of the most unusual of Trump’s selections; now his nomination unfortunately seems to be in significant trouble due to allegations of malfeasance.

Like Hegseth, Gabbard also served with distinction in America’s wars in the Middle East and came away disturbed by what she saw there. During her service in Iraq, Gabbard witnessed first-hand the devastation and enormous costs of that war, including to her fellow American soldiers. As an Iraq War veteran, Gabbard may well be particularly suited to serve as director of national intelligence, coordinating America’s myriad, sprawling intelligence agencies. ==She is well aware that intelligence has too often skewed assessments—including with respect to nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction—with devastating results. The paradigmatic case for the misuse of intelligence is the Iraq War, but intelligence failure has also haunted the U.S. government more recently—for example, when overly optimistic estimates of “progress” in Afghanistan kept the U.S. stuck in that quagmire far longer than was necessary for U.S. national security.

2/2

The sad reality is that nuclear weapons are once again emerging as a salient issue for American defense policy, and the next director of national intelligence will need to bring focus on this crucial domain of national security.

Gabbard chose to make the nuclear threat a centerpiece of her presidential campaign back in 2020. Today, her stark warnings seem all too prescient, especially as the Ukraine–Russia War seems to be expanding in scope, with Ukraine losing ground to the country which hosts the world’s largest arsenal of nuclear weapons. Biden himself admitted in October 2022 that major U.S.–Russia tensions mean that “we have a direct threat of the use of the nuclear weapon if in fact things continue down the path they are going… We have not faced the prospect of Armageddon since … the Cuban missile crisis.” Gabbard’s long focus on nuclear strategy, crisis stability, and arms control will be an asset in a world where Russia has lowered the threshold for nuclear use, China and North Korea are rapidly expanding their nuclear arsenals, and Iran could suddenly test a nuclear weapon.

While it may not be clear at first glance what unites all of President-elect Trump’s national security picks, his national security team is well-positioned to implement, rather than thwart, his agenda—and this “team of rivals” approach will ensure that a spectrum of views will be represented before the commander-in-chiefmakes the ultimate decisions about the most consequential issues. Instead of a unanimous “blob” adhering to the status quo or a coterie of “yes men,” Trump will surround himself with competing and alternative views.

This is essential, since foreign policy is where the president’s authority and power are greatest.

There are reasons for hawks and realists and so-called “Asia firsters” to be encouraged by the emerging Trump team—people from different experiences and with varying perspectives.Having dissenting opinions within the president’s official circle is vital for effective national leadership. Having objective intelligence assessments, free from institutional biases or erroneous threat inflation and informed by multifarious perspectives, will be key to helping Trump make the right decisions on the crucial matters of war and peace.

Whether Trump is able to replicate his first term, during which he avoided starting a new war, only time will tell. But there is a case to be made that disrupting the status quo could form a necessary, but not sufficient, first step toward mending our broken foreign policy and putting the American people and American interests first.

It's amazing how people don't understand what a Savant and Genius he is. He's always played his intelligence down, and would never release his college records, I think because he really wants them to think he's dumb, so he can outfox them every time.

But he did mention his IQ at 187 at the rally, but of course MSM would never believe it.

Remember Trump earlier in his life "always wanted to be an actor", and that's what he's been playing for the last 8 years. Not to MAGA but to the left.

I thought it was hilarious after all the years of MSM and other calling him confused and addled,he comes out on Schultz Podcast and explains perfectly the weave, how all the subject he go to are related to the first. He could have told people about the Weave, years ago, but didn't.BTW, do you know how many people, podcasters, etc. use the word "WEAVE" now, a ton. It's like CoFeFe, drive them nuts with the word and then explain it later.

Which proves he's not an egotist, because he doesn't care what they think.

==Supreme Court Inclined to Uphold Tennessee Law on Transgender Care

The justices heard arguments on Wednesday over whether Tennessee can ban some medical treatments for transgender youth. More than 20 other states have similar laws==.

(Kavanaugh gives a clue how he's thinking about this case)

By Adam Liptak and Emily Bazelon Dec. 4, 2024

Members of the Supreme Court’s conservative majority seemed ready on Wednesday to uphold a Tennessee law denying transition care to transgender youth, with some of them saying that judgments about contested scientific evidence should be made by legislatures rather than judges.

“The Constitution leaves that question to the people’s representatives, rather than to nine people, none of whom is a doctor,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. said.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson responded that leaving the question to the states was an alarming abdication of responsibility. “I’m suddenly quite worried,” she said.

The Tennessee law prohibits medical providers from prescribing puberty-delaying medication, providing hormone therapy or performing surgery to treat what the law called “purported discomfort or distress from a discordance between the minor’s sex and asserted identity.” But the law allows those same treatments for “a congenital defect, precocious puberty, disease or physical injury.”

More than 20 other states have similar laws. The court’s decision, expected by June, will almost certainly yield a major statement on transgender rights against the backdrop of a fierce public debate over the role gender identity should play in areas as varied as sports, bathrooms and pronouns.

The wide-ranging argument, which lasted two and a half hours, touched on the approaches of other nations, the relevance of a previous ruling protecting transgender workers from workplace discrimination and the rights of parents.

But the core question the justices focused on was whether the Tennessee law made distinctions based on sex, which would subject it to a demanding form of judicial scrutiny and make it harder for the law to survive.

Three families and a doctor sued to challenge the law, and the Biden administration intervened on their side. The challengers said the law violated the Constitution by denying equal protection to transgender people, primarily by discriminating against them based on sex.

J. Matthew Rice, Tennessee’s solicitor general, disagreed, arguing that the law was passed for medical purposes, and several of the conservative justices appeared to agree that it did not amount to sex discrimination.

“The burdens of the law fall equally on boys and girls, because neither can transition,” Justice Amy Coney Barrett said, repeating and seeming to endorse a point made by Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh.

Some conservative justices also seemed inclined to follow the court’s approach in overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022. In that case, the majority said regulating abortion was a matter for the states.

So, too, Justice Kavanaugh said, is gender transition care.

“The Constitution doesn’t take sides on how to resolve the medical and policy debate,” he said. “The Constitution is neutral on the question.”

Assessing the court’s ultimate direction was complicated by the silence of one justice in the conservative majority, Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, who wrote the opinion in the employment discrimination case. But it seemed probable that there were at least five votes for rejecting the equal protection challenge to the law….

Several justices noted that some European countries have become wary of some kinds of transgender care.

“England’s pulling back and Sweden’s pulling back,” Justice Kavanaugh said.“It strikes me as a pretty heavy yellow light if not red light for this court to come in, the nine of us, and constitutionalize the whole area when the rest of the world, or at least the countries that have been at the forefront of this, are pumping the brakes.”

Stephen King to Shut Down His 3 Radio Stations in Maine

(Anyone else think that Stephen King is leaving the country, it sounds like such a casual statement, but it’s not. He knows he can’t get a pardon.)

The author, who owns the small independent stations in Bangor, said that the decision was prompted by a desire to get his business affairs in order.

By Derrick Bryson Taylor Dec. 3, 2024, 12:11 p.m. ET

Stephen King, the horror author whose books have sold hundreds of millions of copies, inspired classic films and disturbed untold nights of sleep, has long played another role closer to his home in Maine: local media magnate.

For more than four decades, King, an enthusiastic rock fan, has owned small independent radio stations in Bangor, Maine. It began in 1983 when he bought WLBZ and changed its call letters to WZON, in a nod to his best seller “The Dead Zone.” He added WZLO and WKIT, which bills itself as “Stephen King’s Rock ’n’ Roll Station.”

But now King, 77, is getting out of the radio business, having covered steady losses that the stations said had run into millions of dollars over the years. The stations are expected to sign off for the last time on New Year’s Eve and then shut down.

“While radio across the country has been overtaken by giant corporate broadcasting groups, I’ve loved being a local, independent owner all these years,” King said in a news release in which he noted that he was in good health but that he had been feeling his age and was trying to “get his business affairs in better order.”

“I’ve loved the people who’ve gone to these stations every day and entertained folks, kept the equipment running, and given local advertisers a way to connect with their customers,” he said in the release from the Zone Corporation, his radio company.

King said that he and his wife, Tabitha, were proud to have been a part of the business for so long. A representative for King did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Small radio stations across the United States have been in flux as big media companies have expanded their empires: iHeartMedia owned 870 stations across 151 markets in 2023, according to data released this year by BIA Advisory Services. Audacy owned 227 stations in 46 markets, the survey found.

In Bangor, WZON’s “Downtown With Rich Kimball” show opened on Monday on a somber note, with Kimball noting that the coming weeks would be bittersweet.

“I feel a bit sad for us and for me, but, you know, much worse for the folks who work here at the station full time who now need to find something new with relatively short notice,” Kimball said.

Cara Pelletier, the chair of the Bangor City Council, said in an interview that King’s stations were a lifeline to the community and that she had seen “quite a bit of grieving” online.

“I don’t think you can overstate the importance of these stations and by extension, the importance of Stephen King’s legacy here in Bangor,” she said.

The King family, she added, is “revered as people who have invested in the city. From their donation to the library to things like this that I think nobody knew they were doing personally, but they do because they love the city of Bangor.”

The stations have played a big role in community affairs over the years…

=Joni Ernst is running scared, tries to backtrack on Hegseth.==Ernst denies she wants job for herself.

Joni Ernst: “I Don’t Have a Campaign Against Pete” Hegseth

By Philip Wegmann - RCP Staff December 05, 2024

(Ernst has turned out to be crying disappointment)NO ONE SHOULD BE HER, SHE’S FULL RINO NOW

Sen. Joni Ernst has not made up her mind about Pete Hegseth’s nomination to be secretary of defense, but despite the suggestion of some of her colleagues, the Iowa Republican told RealClearPolitics during a Thursday interview that she is not pursuing that role for herself.

“I am not seeking to be secretary of defense,” Ernst said after some on the left suggested she would make a better candidate than Hegseth and after critics on the right accused her of trying to sink his nomination for personal gain. A combat veteran herself, she explained that while “I absolutely have interest in the military,” her focus is on continuing her work in the Armed Services committee, not joining President-elect Trump’s cabinet.

Ernst, a senior member of the committee with jurisdiction over the nomination, met with Hegseth Wednesday as allegations about professional and sexual misconduct continue to dim his hopes of confirmation.

“I’ve known Pete for a very long time,” Ernst said of Hegseth, a former Fox News host and decorated veteran, adding, “I really appreciated the time that he took to sit down with me and walk through a number of issues.” The senator described the conversation as “thorough” and the nominee as “very forthcoming.” A sexual assault survivor, she confirmed that the two discussed the misconduct allegations during their 45-minute sit-down.

Hegseth denied all allegations of wrongdoing in a Wednesday interview with Megyn Kelly and vowed to fight on so long as he has Trump’s blessing.

While Republicans control the Senate, the margins are slim. They hold the upper chamber with just a three-seat majority and are expected to have just a one-seat majority on the committee next year that will handle Hegseth’s nomination. This makes Ernst a critical swing vote, and her initial hesitation over the nominee has made her a MAGA pariah.

Complained Donald Trump Jr., the son of the president-elect, in a social media post Thursday,“If you're a GOP Senator who voted for Lloyd Austin but criticize Pete Hegseth then maybe you’re in the wrong political party!”Charlie Kirk, a confidant of the Trump family, noted that Ernst had supported Austin, the current secretary of defense, and accused the senator of “leading the charge against Hegseth.”

“No, no,” Ernst said of the accusation that she was working behind the scenes to sink the nominee, “and believe me, I have been feeling this.” The senator insisted that “there is absolutely no campaign against Pete,” adding that her focus remains strictly on ensuring a thorough and fair confirmation process.

The candidates change, she said, but the process ought to remain consistent.

“If there had been allegations made against Gen. Austin,” she said of the current defense secretary who was confirmed with broad bipartisan support four years ago, “we would have gone through that process as well. I think anyone that comes in front of our committee deserves a fair hearing.”

“I don’t have a campaign against Pete,” she reiterated.

“I just want to make sure the process is able to play out and that we’re thoroughly vetting him. I do believe that Pete deserves to have a hearing. All the rumblings out there are absolutely false. My role as a senator is to make sure that we are putting to bed any rumors, any anonymous whatever,” she continued.

“We just need to make sure that he is thoroughly vetted and that he has his opportunity to go in front of the committee, recount his service, and rebut any allegations,” she concluded.

Democrats have already made their own conclusions. They think the nominee is already sunk.Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine said as much before telling the Washington Examiner that if Trump swapped Ernst for Hegseth, Democrats would begin with “a very favorable inclination” to confirm her. Added Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, “she would have significant bipartisan support.”…

Jill Biden’s White House Christmas Decorations Are Predictably Ghastly.

The Biden family has unleashed all kinds of aesthetic hell on the White House over the past few years, from “tits”-out transgender garden parties to some of the most horrendous outfits ever seen on a First Lady in America’s history.

Naturally, the family’s final Christmas at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue was likely to be equally gauche, and Jill Biden appears to have met those expectations perfectly.

A “first look” at the latest attempts to besmirch Christmas reveals some kind of angular, plastic monstrosity flanked by two more traditional trees. The White House website claims: “The first Christmas tree display featured on the White House tour is dedicated to Gold Star Families. This year’s Gold Star Tree exhibit is constructed of six oversized and stacked stars, representing all six branches of the military. Names of fallen service members are written on gold star ornaments on the four accompanying Christmas trees. The Gold Star Trees honor the heroic men and women of our Nation’s military who have laid down their lives for our country, those who are Missing in Action, and the families who carry on their legacies. May God bless our troops and their families.

”Flatly, if I were a Gold Star family member, I’d be insulted by it.

Moving on through the White House, there are moments of decency, but not in the library, which presents a hollow, plasticky, hodge-podge of Christmas trees with almost no rhyme nor reason:

Next is the Vermeil Room, which is decorated with the portraits of first ladies, including Mamie Eisenhower, Claudia “Lady Bird” Johnson, Jacqueline Kennedy, and, uh, not much more. They’ve stuck a tree in the corner and a garland on the fireplace and called it a day:

Then there’s theChina Room, which appears to be decorated with fake loaves of bread and a few random trees in the corner. Again, there is no rhyme or reason, and the White House website describes this as “Food is love. A baker’s bench and artisanal breads set the scene in this room, reminding guests of the peaceful, patient, and loving process of baking bread.

”I’m not sure what that has to do with Christmas, but okay, let’s move on to the piece de repugnance: the official White House Christmas tree in the Blue Room.

Yes, they’ve wrapped the tree in a carousel, perhaps as a nod to what a circus the Biden government has been:

Now, as I say, there are some parts of the White House that haven’t been vomited all over by Jill Biden’s fever dreams, but for the most part, it’s a fitting exit for a flop of a president and an embarrassment of a First Lady.

Merry Christmas!
