Been musing about why all this is happening. Wondering if those who worship power maintain it because others perceive them as holding the greatest powers that exist, and so they naturally submit to it. Yet at the end of an age, once the world has changed radically enough, people begin to perceive powers even greater than theirs, so starting with the brightest people begin to naturally oppose their powers until eventually a new order emerges.
