Had a nutty uncle that got really fucked up in the 60s drug scene. Was at Woodstock but didn't remember it. I have a high inclination to believe that he was a MK-like patient or target. His mom was an ex-OSS hospital psychologist, though, honestly, a devout christian. No belief she was anything but good, but could easily have been manipulated into certain behaviors as a naive true believer. He was a rebel and it got out of hand, but the treatment suggestions were crazy. Uncle got diagnosed with schizophrenia, dozens of electric shock treatments back then. Lived a fairly decent life after, though taking lithium well after better drugs came along. Somewhat independent for a couple decades, though with govt aid, and then moved back in with his parents and ultimately lived in a nursing home when his parents died. He died during covid, but refused the vax and intubation from what I understand. He wasn't in good shape, but I think they let him die. He told me all about crazy conspiracy shit with the government in the 80s and 90s. Funny thing was…he was right. He was very high IQ as a boy and teenager. Maybe not a hero, but I commend him for facing his fate. Honestly, it was probably best for him as his life was quite the waste, but fuck if he hadn't been saying that the government was after him for decades…and then muh covid killed him.
