So, NY is going to pay $800 in inflation stimulus if you make less than $150k? I don't live in NY, but I'd bet it ain't worth it.

'Proposal Would Deliver $3 Billion by Taking Excess Sales Tax Revenue Driven by Inflation and Giving That Money Back to Everyday New Yorkers $500 Payment For Families Making Less Than $300,000; $300 Payment for Individual New York Taxpayers Making Less Than $150,000'

So, if i make $65k, that's less than $300k, right?

That's +$500.

And $65k is less than $150k as well.

Add another $300.

$800 total for less than $150k.

How is that math incorrect?

No, you won't get $800. That was kind of a trick question to look deeper.

The trick here is that if you and your spouse make $65k each and file as a family, you get $500. If you and your spouse file separately making less than $150K each, you each get $300.

P.S. Do your own taxes.
