US backs Israeli invasion of Syria

The IDF’s advance past the Golan Heights will prevent terrorists from taking over the border area, according to the State Department

Washington has defended Israel’s military incursion into Syria, with State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stressing that the operation is in self-defense. At a press briefing on Monday, Miller claimed that the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) advance to the Syrian side of the Golan Heights was done to prevent Syrian-based militants from taking over the border areas and launching an offensive into Israel in the future.

Israeli troops moved into the demilitarized buffer zone in the occupied Golan Heights on Sunday, after Syrian opposition forces seized Damascus and forced former President Bashar Assad to flee the country. On Monday, Israeli forces moved beyond the buffer zone and into Syria proper, with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz saying they intend to create a new “security area” there that would be clear of “heavy strategic weapons and terrorist infrastructure.”

According to Miller, by abandoning its positions in the area around the buffer zone, the Syrian Army “potentially created a vacuum” that could be filled by terrorist organizations.

“That would threaten the state of Israel and would threaten civilians inside Israel. Every country has the right to take action against terrorist organizations,” Miller stated, adding that “ultimately, it’s important that there is security along that border,” which, according to him, the Israeli military can now ensure.

Miller noted, however, that Washington expects the Israeli occupation to be temporary.

“This is a temporary action that they have taken in response to actions by the Syrian military to withdraw from that area… We want to see the 1974 disengagement agreement upheld, and that includes the terms of the buffer zones, which includes Israel withdrawing to its previous positions,” he stated, referring to Israel’s 1974 agreement with Syria to establish a demilitarized strip in the Golan Heights.

Miller’s words run counter to remarks made earlier by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. While West Jerusalem told the UN Security Council that its incursion into Syria is a “limited and temporary measure” at a press conference on Monday night, Netanyahu declared that “the Golan Heights will forever be an inseparable part of the state of Israel.” He previously argued that Israel’s disengagement agreement with Syria effectively “collapsed” once Syrian troops “abandoned their positions” in the buffer zone.

The UN has criticized Israel for the incursion, saying it violates the disengagement agreement and stressing that “there should be no military forces or activities in the area of separation.” A number of Middle Eastern countries have also condemned Israel’s advance past the Golan Heights, accusing West Jerusalem of orchestrating an illegal land grab. In a statement on Monday, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry slammed the move as “a blatant attack on Syria’s sovereignty and unity” and “a flagrant violation of international law.” Similar remarks were made by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.

Harris continued partying this weekend at her residence at the Naval Observatory.

“Our work continues and so please everyone, look I know this election was not what we intended, certainly not what we wanted. I know there’s a lot of emotion that we are all feeling right now. I get it,” Harris said cackling.

“Please I have to just, I have to insist, that please do not let your spirit or your purpose be defeated,” Harris added. “Try and get some good food on the table, you know and you go to other peoples’ house…” Harris said.

I will never quit her ❤️

Kamala Harris has largely stayed out of the public eye since her crushing loss against Trump last month.

Late last month Harris sounded drunk in her first video message to supporters since her concession speech after losing the 2024 election to Trump.

Harris’s bizarre message to supporters reminded us why she burned through more than $1.5 billion in 100 days and lost in a devastating landslide to President Trump.

“The outcome of this election obviously is not what we wanted. It is not what we worked so hard for. But I am proud of the race we ran, and your role in this was critical. What we did in 107 days was unprecedented,” Harris said.

“I know that this is an uncertain time. I’m clear-eyed about that. I know you’re clear-eyed about it, and it feels heavy and I just have to remind you, don’t you ever let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before November 5th, and you have the same purpose that you did. You have the same ability to engage and inspire. So don’t ever let anybody or any circumstances take your power from you,” Harris said.

EXCLUSIVE: Former Classmate of UnitedHealthcare CEO’s Suspected Shooter Speaks to The Gateway Pundit

A former high school classmate of the person of interest identified and detained Monday in the apparent assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson spoke to The Gateway Pundit on Monday, expressing incredulity over the incident.

Authorities identified Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old former Ivy League student at UPenn, as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, The Gateway Pundit reported Monday.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, new details about the arrestee and his family have come to light.

Mangioni’s family owns multiple businesses in Baltimore City or Baltimore County, including Hayfields Country Club in Cockeysville and a radio station.

He is also a cousin of Republican State Delegate Nino Mangione, who has been in office since 2019.

One source in Baltimore County who is indirectly familiar with the possible shooter described him as “super smart” and said the family is “very well off.” Some locals have rumored that Luigi Mangione had a bad injury and was a disgruntled client of United Healthcare or that he had a close family member who was wronged by the healthcare system. “But who knows,” said the local.

Mangioni was also valedictorian of his high school class at Gilman School in 2016. Gilman School, an all-boys private country day school on the outskirts of Baltimore, addressed the incident in a letter to the community.

Freddie Leatherbury, a former classmate of Mangioni at Gilman, told The Gateway Pundit that his reaction to Mangioni's arrest was "disbelief."

"He was such a good kid; he was well-studied and well-read, smart, athletic, socially well-adjusted, and had a lot of good friends," Leatherburry added. "Nothing I knew about him previously really correlated to what I heard about him. I was so surprised."

Leatherbury noted that the two hadn't seen each other in about eight years, adding, "We were friendly but just weren't in the same circle of friends, so after high school graduation, I never saw him." Still, he follows Mangioni's Instagram page and looked at it earlier on Monday "out of curiosity" and found that he hadn't posted anything since 2021.

It is still unclear what drove Mangioni to allegedly commit murder.

However, as The Gateway Pundit reported, police found a manifesto where he ranted against the healthcare industry on Mangione after he was found at a McDonald’s.

Law enforcement found at least four fake IDs on Mangione, a gun with a silencer, and a two-and-a-half-page handwritten manifesto.

“These parasites had it coming,” and “I do apologize for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done,” the manifesto read, according to a police official who has seen the document CNN reports.

Mangione was discovered to be an anti-capitalist who ranted about the healthcare industry’s massive profits and believes in climate change.

Perhaps he was indoctrinated and radicalized by his college professors at the University of Pennsylvania.

Israel launches ‘one of the largest’ attacks on Syria in history – media

Warplanes have reportedly hit more than 250 military targets in the country

Israel has launched a large-scale attack on targets in Syria, with warplanes pounding at least three airports and other infrastructure following the demise of former President Bashar Assad’s government, according to several media reports. Israeli tanks have reportedly broken out of the buffer zone adjacent to the illegally occupied Golan Heights, on the Syrian border and moved towards Damascus, although West Jerusalem has denied the claim.

An unnamed Israeli security source told Israeli Army Radio that “more than 250 military targets were attacked in Syria,” describing the assault as “one of the largest attack operations in the history of… [the] air force.”

The targets included “bases of Assad army, dozens of fighter jets, dozens of surface-to-air missile systems, production sites and warehouses… and surface-to-surface missiles.”

The Jerusalem Post, citing Syrian security sources, has claimed that the airstrikes targeted the Qamishli airbase on the Turkish border, the Shinshar base near the Lebanese border, and the Aqaba airport southwest of Damascus.

Other attacks have reportedly targeted a research center and a center for electronic warfare in the overall area of the Syrian capital. Al Mayadeen also claimed that Israel had attacked defense factories in the southern Aleppo countryside.

According to several local media outlets, Israeli tanks had been approaching the Syrian capital. However, the Israeli military has denied that claim. A defense official told RT that “the reports circulating in the media about the alleged advancement of Israeli tanks towards Damascus are false,” adding that “IDF troops are stationed within the buffer zone, as stated in the past.”

Israel began active military operations in Syria after the armed opposition, spearheaded by the Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham (HTS) jihadist group, launched a surprise offensive against government forces that led to the rapid collapse of the Assad government and the former president’s exile in Russia.

The Jewish state’s military moved to capture the buffer zone established as part of the 1974 disengagement agreement not far from Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar insisted that the incursion is a “temporary step” aimed solely at ensuring security.

However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel intends to retain total control over the Golan Heights, which it has illegally occupied since the 1967 Six-Day War, “forever,” calling the area “an inseparable part” of his country.
