Comedian Jon Stewart flipped out after President-elect Donald Trump posted a humorous promotion for his fragrance line using a viral photo of First Lady Jill Biden looking admiringly at Trump during their recent visit to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France.

On Monday’s episode of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show,Jon Stewart didn’t find Trump’s ad funny at all, saying it was “beneath” the president-elect.

“Trump was apparently traveling with his predecessor’s wife, attending the opening of the Notre Dame Cathedral with Jill Biden,” Stewart said in his opening monologue. “It was a rare moment of conciliation. One that would have given this country hope had it not been immediately undermined by the returning president releasing an actual cologne ad belittling and sexualizing said moment.” (Why would he assume they travelled together, what a weird statement?)

“You fucking won! You won!” Stewart later added. “You don’t have to push merch anymore. I find it hard to believe I’m saying this, but it’s beneath you.”

As Breitbart News reported, Trump posted to X on Monday a humorous ad promoting his line of fragrances for men and women.

The ad features a photo of Trump and Jill Biden chatting at the re-opening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Saturday, with Jill Biden looking admiringly at Trump.

“Here are my new Trump Perfumes & Colognes!” Trump said on X. “I call them Fight, Fight, Fight, because they represent us WINNING. Great Christmas gifts for the family. Go to gettrumpfragrances.com/. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!”

The leader of the free world is back.

Strolling into the impossibly restored Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, President-elect Donald Trump soaked up every eyeball of attention. World leaders whispered. First ladies blushed. Billionaires pointed. Fashion models swooned.

There he was, risen from the ashes, stronger than ever. In that moment, Mr. Trump looked as inevitable as the stone walls and spires around him reaching for the heavens.

The bad boy former president, mug-shotted felon, assassination survivor and social media smack-talker swanned into the richest ceremony in the world wearing a gold tie, black overcoatand the fearlessness of the most powerful — and most famous — man on the planet.

It took five years and more than $1 billion to restore Notre Dame. Mr. Trump did it on less than half that budget and in a quarter of the time. And he did it all by himself.

A one-man phoenix.

Princes, presidents and prime ministers begged for an audience with Mr. Trump.

Even French President Emmanuel Macron, whose show it really was there in Paris,surrendered to the true king. Mr. Trump crushed him with a handshakeas if King Kong were ripping down a tall building or swatting a biplane from the highest perches of the Empire State Building.

Mr. Macron was just happy to get his picture with Mr. Trump and offered him a seat beside his own first lady.

Speaking of first ladies, American first lady Jill Biden was there, too. Her husband is the current president of the United States — on paper, at least. But he was in Angola, asleep.

Two seats away was the closest she could get to Mr. Trump. They chatted amiably, and she looked upon him with the adoring face of someone meeting the person she had just voted for in the last election.

In case anyone worried that Mr. Trump’s rise from the ashes might humble him and suddenly make him conform to the rules of politics, he quickly dashed those concerns.

He took the picture of a glowing Mrs. Biden looking at him amorously and posted it on his Truth Social platform to promote his line of Trump Perfumes and Colognes. The caption of the picture read: “A fragrance your enemies can’t resist!”

Truly, this world does not deserve Mr. Trump as our leader.Perhaps an even better caption for that photograph emerged from the eternal, crowdsourced genius of the internet.

As Mrs. Biden looks at Mr. Trump, with her daughter beaming behind her,

Mr. Trump is saying: “So anyway, after my shift at McDonald’s, I bought a garbage truck.”

Mr. Trump is a one-man show. But that is not to say he doesn’t run with an entourage — his own Rat Pack of billionaires, bad boys, geniuses and iconoclasts. Conquering Europe with Mr. Trump over the weekend was Elon Musk, who has developed a bromance of visionaries with the leader of the free world.

Mr. Trump could team up with Mr. Musk and offer a new product in his line of perfumes and colognes.

Trump Musk, it would be called.

With Trump Musk, anything is possible. Never say no. The entire galaxy in a bottle. Spray or eau de parfum.

To sell the new product, they could use another picture from the weekend at Notre Dame: Mr. Trump holding court with a grinning, dorky Mr. Musk. Swooning coyly beside him is Italy’s lovely firecracker prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, blushing and giggling.

Mr. Trump stands before them, pointing as if to say, “You two make a terrific couple.”

Indeed, with Trump Musk, anything is possible. And you can always get a good deal on it.KEK

Speaking on Tuesday, new Reform UK treasurer Candy cited the aspiration that the United Kingdom had once fostered, giving him room as the grandson of Cypriot migrants in the early 1990s to build a business empire.He told GB News: “our country is in decline. I have friends across the political spectrum, I have some very good friends in the Labour Party, I have some very good friends in the Tory party. They will always be my friends but I genuinely think it is time for a change in direction, and that change in direction is Reform and Nigel Farage.”==

The former Tory had been so disaffected with what he called the broken promises of the Conservatives he’s even tacitly backed Starmer in the recent past in an apparent bid to destroy the Conservative Party, but he made clear Labour had well and truly squandered any opportunity they had for positive change. Candy said: “Labour have got it so wrong already. You can’t tax your way out of this problem, you’ve got to grow the economy.”

On money, Candy said he could out-fundraise any other UK political party, stating he could top the £40 million election fundsthe big legacy parties had previously managed to amass, saying this would be a mix of large donors like himself and the thousands of small gifts from the wider public, on which Reform has generally subsided until recently.

He said:“I’m not a politician, I don’t want to be a politician. But what I can do is I’m very good at raising fundsfor businesses… and I’ll make sure Reform UK has the right funds to run their operations and business correctly… already this morning I’ve had millions of pounds worth of donations”.

“Nigel Farage will be Prime Minister of this country”, said Candy, further telling The Sun newspaper: “I will raise Reform more money than any political party in the UK has ever raised – Nigel is going to be the PM”. Mr Farage responded in turn, calling Candy a “formidable” businessman who will help Reform fund the English County Council elections in may.

While County Councillors won’t hand Reform a great deal of power immediately, having such a grassroots force is essential to wider electoral success in the United Kingdom and lacking this layer has been cited as a major factor holding back Reform and Farage’s previous party incarnations in the past.

L.A. Times Columnist Quits, Accuses Owner of ‘Appeasing Trump’

Los Angeles Times columnistHarry Litmanhas announced that he is leaving the paper, accusing it of “appeasing Trump”because of owner Patrick Soon-Shiong’s attempt to restore nonpartisanship and fairness to its coverage.

As Breitbart News reported, Soon-Shiong directed the paper not to endorse a presidential candidate, and told Fox News last month that hewas replacing the paper’s left-wing editorial board because he wants “all sides to be heard.”

Litman wrote at his Substack:

I have written my last op-ed for the Times. Yesterday, I resigned my position. I don’t want to continue to work for a paper that is appeasing Trump and facilitating his assault on democratic rule for craven reasons.

My resignation is a protest and visceral reaction against the conduct of the paper’s owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong. Soon-Shiong has made several moves to force the paper, over the forceful objections of his staff, into a posture more sympathetic to Donald Trump. Those moves can’t be defended as the sort of policy adjustment papers undergo from time to time, and that an owner, within limits, is entitled to influence. Given the existential stakes for our democracy that I believe Trump’s second term poses, and the evidence that Soon-Shiong is currying favor with the President-elect, they are repugnant and dangerous.

Soon-Shiong’s most notorious action received national attention. The paper’s editorial department had drafted an endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Soon-Shiong ordered them to spike it and make no endorsement in the election. (Soon-Shiong later implied he had just ordered up a factual analysis of both candidates’ policies, but that’s at best a distortion: he plainly blocked an already drafted Harris endorsement.) It is hard to imagine a more brutal, humiliating, and unprofessional treatment of a paper’s professional staff. Three members of the editorial page resigned in protest and 2,000 readers canceled their subscriptions.

The Times has been suffering a decline in subscriptions over time, partly owing to a shift among readers away from newsprint, but also because the one-sided nature of its coverage has alienated readers who are not left-wing voters.

Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich likened President-elect Donald Trump to Beowulf, given all of the efforts, including impeachment and assassination, to thwart his rise over the past nine years.

“Isn’t it really rooted in this that there is a fear—a healthy fear, a healthy respect for Donald Trump, that he’s strong and tough, and that without even taking the oath of office, he almost single-handedly—his election has reestablished America as the world’s leader?” host Sean Hannity asked.

“Look, if you’re a relatively sophisticated leader around the world, and you watch nine years of the rise of Donald Trump, and you watch two impeachments, and you watch all of these efforts to catch him in the law, and you watch two assassination attempts, and the guy just keeps coming,” Gingrich replied.

“I said the other day, this is a mythic figure almost like the various Scandinavian Beowulf’s and other kind of sagas. I mean, you can’t — there’s no practical way that you can explain Trump within a normal political structure. He now represents clearly something like a according to the latest Rasmussen poll, 55% of the American people believe that he has in fact got a clear mandate, only 32% don’t agree.”

“So, I mean, he’s beginning to build almost a 2-1 margin that this is the leader of the American nation, and if you’re the rest of the world and you’re really — people forget we are an enormous country, 345 million people, we are the third-largest country geographically in the world,” he added.“We have enormous power, clearly still, despite every screw-up at the Pentagon. We are the most powerful nation in the world, and this is the guy who’s now coming back, and they all respect it, and they are frankly, I think, stunned by it.”

Beowulf belongs metrically, stylistically, and thematically to a heroic tradition grounded in Germanic religion and mythology. It is also part of the broader tradition of heroic poetry. Many incidents, such as the tearing-off of the monster’s arm and the hero’s descent into the mere, are familiar motifs from folklore. His sacrificial death is seen not as tragic but as befitting the end of a good (some would say “too good”) hero’s life.

That is not to say that Beowulf is an optimistic poem. English writer and Old English scholar J.R.R. Tolkiensuggested that its total effect is more like a long lyrical elegy than an epic. Even the earlier, happier section in Denmark is filled with ominous references that would have been well understood by contemporary audiences. Thus, after Grendel’s death, King Hrothgar speaks sanguinely of the future, which the audience would know will end with the destruction of his line and the burning of Heorot. In the second part the movement is slow and funereal: scenes from Beowulf’s youth are replayed in a minor key as acounterpoint to his last battle, and the mood becomes increasingly sombre as the wyrd (fate) that comes to all men closes in on him.

Federal Judge Stops Biden Agencies from Opening Obamacare to Illegal Aliens

A federal judge has halted President Joe Biden’s plans to open the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, to illegal aliens enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

In May, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announced a final rule to open Obamacare rolls to some DACA illegal aliens enrolled in the program. Former President Barack Obama first created the DACA program via executive order, shielding more than a million illegal aliens from deportation through the years.

On Monday, District Judge Daniel Traynor granted a preliminary injunction and stay to ensure that Biden’s agencies cannot implement such plans while the issue makes its way through federal court.

“This decision is a big win for the rule of law,” Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach (R), who led the lawsuit, said in a statement:

Congress never intended that illegal aliens should receive Obamacare benefits. Indeed, two laws prohibit them from receiving such benefits. The Biden administration tried to break those laws. But we fought back and defeated the Biden Justice Department. [Emphasis added]

Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia had joined Kansas in the lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration.

The preliminary injunction is particularly significant as President-elect Donald Trump is expected to throw out the final rule once taking office in January of next year.

Prior cost estimates have suggested that should about 100,000 DACA illegal aliens enroll in Obamacare, it would cost American taxpayers about $300 million annually. Other estimates have put the annual financial burden at about $2.8 billion.

In his 2012 State of the Union Address, Obama vowed to Americans that illegal aliens would not be eligible for Obamacare, to which Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) shouted, “You lie!”

The case is Kansas v. United States, No. 1:24-cv-00150 in the U.S. District Court of the District of North Dakota.

A court in Italy has ruled that Germany must pay anadditional €4 million ($4.2 million) in compensation to relatives of those killed in a Nazi massacre in the village of Pietransieri during World War II, bringing the total compensation amount to €15 million ($15.8 million).

An appeals court in L'Aquila, central Italy, made the ruling on Monday, accepting objections from individuals not included in previous compensation rulings related to the massacre, Rome-based ANSA reported.

The court ruled thatGermany must pay compensation to 30 more individuals who lost relatives in the atrocity, thus increasing the amount of compensation.

The compensation will reportedly be covered by the portion of the European Union's post-COVID-19 recovery fund allocated for "Nazi crimes" and is expected to be paid to Italy by Germany in the coming months.

The massacre took place on Nov. 21, 1943 in the Limmari forest near Pietransieri, close to L'Aquila, central Italy

Nazi forces, suspecting the local population of supporting Italian resistance fighters, killed 128 unarmed civilians, including 60 women and 34 children under the age of 10, and numerous elderly individuals.

so what is Stewart complaining about. Politics was always and will always be involved in this skits.
