Trump invites Xi to his inauguration – CBS

No Chinese leader has previously attended a US presidential inauguration

US President-elect Donald Trump has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend his inauguration on January 20, CBS News reported on Wednesday.

The offer was made in early November, shortly after Trump’s election victory, multiple sources told the media outlet. It remains unclear whether Xi has accepted.

In a recent NBC News interview, Trump said he “got along very well” with Xi and that they had communicated the previous week.

Trump’s team has suggested hosting other leaders at the Capitol on January 20, in addition to Xi. While ambassadors and diplomats are typically invited, State Department records since 1874 indicate that no foreign leader has ever attended a transfer-of-power ceremony.

The apparent olive branch to China comes despite Trump’s incoming administration featuring several hawks on Beijing, including Senator Marco Rubio as secretary of state.

The president-elect has vowed to hit the country with an “additional 10% tariff, above any additional tariffs” unless it takes action against the trafficking of fentanyl, a major contributor to the opioid crisis.

During his campaign he threatened tariffs in excess of 60% on US imports from China.

On Tuesday President Xi Jinping warned that neither side will emerge victorious in the event of a trade war.

Xie Feng, China’s ambassador to the US, read a letter from Xi at a US-China Business Council gala in Washington on Wednesday, emphasizing the importance of dialogue over confrontation, and calling for mutually beneficial cooperation rather than zero-sum games.

Xie urged against decoupling supply chains, while US Ambassador to Beijing Nicholas Burns cautioned that Beijing sometimes tries to “sugar coat” the competitive nature of the bilateral relationship.

Too Much Eggnog? Kamala Harris Looks Sloshed at Christmas Party in DC (VIDEO)

Too much eggnog?

Kamala Harris looked inebriated again during a Christmas party at her residence at the Naval Observatory on Wednesday evening.

“I give you permission that if you are going to someone’s house who doesn’t know how to cook, bring your own dish!” Harris said cackling.

Kamala Harris went on a holiday party speaking circuit over the last week and she sure was looking and sounding rough.

Harris slurred her words as she encouraged a room full of Democrat activists and influencers to keep fighting last week.

Harris partied last weekend at her residence at the Naval Observatory.

“Our work continues and so please everyone, look I know this election was not what we intended, certainly not what we wanted. I know there’s a lot of emotion that we are all feeling right now. I get it,” Harris said cackling.

“Please I have to just, I have to insist, that please do not let your spirit or your purpose be defeated,” Harris added. “Try and get some good food on the table, you know and you go to other peoples’ house…” Harris said.

I will never quit her ❤️

Kamala Harris has largely stayed out of the public eye since her crushing loss against Trump last month.

Late last month Harris sounded drunk in her first video message to supporters since her concession speech after losing the 2024 election to Trump.

Harris’s bizarre message to supporters reminded us why she burned through more than $1.5 billion in 100 days and lost in a devastating landslide to President Trump.

“The outcome of this election obviously is not what we wanted. It is not what we worked so hard for. But I am proud of the race we ran, and your role in this was critical. What we did in 107 days was unprecedented,” Harris said.

“I know that this is an uncertain time. I’m clear-eyed about that. I know you’re clear-eyed about it, and it feels heavy and I just have to remind you, don’t you ever let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before November 5th, and you have the same purpose that you did. You have the same ability to engage and inspire. So don’t ever let anybody or any circumstances take your power from you,” Harris said.

Chuck Schumer Faces Another Embarrassing Loss on His Way Out the Door

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is watching his power slip away in the wake of the 2024 election.

Republicans kept control of the House of Representatives, took control of the Senate, and returned President Trump to the White House in a sweeping rejection of everything Schumer stands for.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Schumer’s efforts to stack the courts with Marxist judges before the new Congress begins.

In his latest effort to entrench Democrat control, despite Americans making their views clear, Schumer tried to ensure a Democratic majority on the National Labor Relations Board for the first two years of Trump’s presidency.

Ultimately, however, Schumer’s efforts failed after Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Joe Manchin (I-WV) voted ‘no’ on a procedural vote that would have cleared the way for Lauren McFerran’s nomination.

President Trump will now be able to appoint her replacement.

Axios reports, “It was a dramatic and consequential defeat for Schumer and the labor movement.”

Democrats thought they could install McFerran, the current chair, for another five-year term.

That would ensure Democrats had a 3-2 majority on the board, which helps referee disputes between employers of workers across the economy, from Amazon to Starbucks.

Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema just voted with every Senate Republican against re-confirming Democrat Lauren McFerran to the National Labor Relations Board.

Democrats would have controlled the majority on the NLRB until 2026 if they had voted in favor.

Now Donald Trump will… pic.twitter.com/39Pzno1x2p

Schumer was not happy with the outcome and whined, “It is deeply disappointing, a direct attack on working people, and incredibly troubling that this highly qualified nominee — with a proven track record of protecting worker rights — did not have the votes.”

Power & Communication Contractors Association President & CEO Tim Wagner, however, shared relief.

“After years of being burdened with her impractical and unconstitutional policies, it’s time for a fresh approach to labor policy. The Senate’s decision to reject McFerran is a significant step in that direction.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green Says Pentagon ‘Full of Crap’ Regarding Drones Over New Jersey (VIDEO)

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is blasting the Pentagon over the lack of transparency about the drones being spotted flying over New Jersey.

Hundreds of drones have been flying over the state, with some reportedly being as big as a car.

A mystery drone in Bedminster, NJ. Looks and sounds like a helicopter, yet no explanation from @njdotcom or the State of NJ. Looks to be the size of a mini van, and loud too.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said that the drones do not belong to a “foreign entity or adversary” but did not explain what they are.

“There is not any truth to that,” said Singh. “There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States and there’s no so-called mothership launching drones towards the United States.”

The Pentagon also denied that the drones belong to the United States military.

“These are not U.S. military drones,” Singh said. “Again, this is being investigated by local law enforcement. What our initial assessment here is [is] that these are not drones or activities coming from a foreign entity or adversary.”

Rep. Greene responded to the news in a video posted to X.

“I’m going to call it total bullsh-t that no one knows what these are,” Greene said in the video. “They can track down a guy that just killed a CEO, but they can’t identify what nightly drones are and where they’re coming from.”

Greene said the government was “lying” about not knowing who these drones belong to or where they are coming from.

It’s a slap in the face that the Pentagon continues to tell the American people they don’t know who is flying the drones over New Jersey.

I think the Pentagon absolutely knows, but they’re full of crap.

And if they actually don’t know, these officials should resign in disgrace.… pic.twitter.com/48jM7jAuxw

“It’s a slap in the face that the Pentagon continues to tell the American people they don’t know who is flying the drones over New Jersey,” Greene wrote in the post accompanying the video. “I think the Pentagon absolutely knows, but they’re full of crap.”

The congresswoman added, “if they actually don’t know, these officials should resign in disgrace.”

“Luckily, in just a few more weeks, we will have people in charge who can tell us what this is,” Greene said of the upcoming administration change.

A running list of ‘intelligence community’ screwups

Below are just some of the things that the Democrat intelligence community under Joe Biden has screwed up on:

A Chinese spy balloon was allowed to fly over the U.S. gathering information.

Large drones have been flying around the Northeast for weeks, and the intelligence community and FBI allege to have no knowledge of who owns them. Yet the public is told they are not foreign owned, and the public is in no danger—how can they know that if they don’t know what they are, or who is behind them?

The borders are wide open with known terrorists and other violent criminals flowing in, yet the intelligence community is extremely quiet on the risks.

Tens of thousands of young Chinese men have come across the border, and the intelligence community seems to have little (if any) interest.

Hamas planned the October 7 attacks against Israel for years, yet somehow our intelligence community had no idea.

The intelligence community seemed to have no idea rebels were going to take over Syria until it happened.

The intelligence community seemed to have no idea that the Taliban would overrun Afghanistan in such a short time.

Throughout all these intelligence failures under Biden, I do not recall The Wall Street Journal saying how dangerous Biden’s people are, and calling for their replacement; but that’s exactly what the paper’s editorial board is doing over Trump’s picks, and he’s not even in office!

How Tulsi Gabbard Sees the World

Her dogmatic, hard-left views make her a risky fit for assessing intel.

Consider her [Gabbard’s] views on Israel, Syria and Iran. The chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency said Friday that Iran’s capacity to produce near-weapons-grade uranium is “increasing dramatically,” perhaps “seven, eight times more.” That and the Syrian regime’s collapse put a premium on sound intelligence and judgment early in Mr. Trump’s term.

The DNI’s job is to convey intelligence fairly to a President even when it benefits a disfavored policy or overturns a cherished notion. Ms. Gabbard’s record suggests she is as likely to reject new intel and muddy the waters.

That’s how it was with Syria, where Ms. Gabbard’s opposition to U.S. involvement led her to defend dictator Bashar al-Assad from findings of chemical-weapons use. At times in her 2020 campaign, she wouldn’t concede that the Butcher of Damascus is a war criminal.

Ms. Gabbard could have made a case for U.S. restraint without apologizing for Mr. Assad. Instead she published a report full of crank theories, including that Syrian chemical attacks ‘may have been staged by opposition forces for the purpose of drawing the United States and the West deeper into the war.’

They say she might not be worried enough about Iran and its nuclear weapons. Let’s see, the Biden administration has funded Iran and allowed the buildup, but we are supposed to be scared that Tulsi might not take the issue seriously enough? Just last month, Biden “quietly renewed” economic sanctions waivers, freeing up another $10 billion for the regime.

Secretary of State Blinken reportedly organized the letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials which falsely asserted the Hunter laptop was Russian misinformation—intentional interfered in the election—yet I don’t recall the WSJ saying that people who are so willing to lie to the public, like Blinken and his signers, should have their security clearances taken away.

They are also worried that in the past, Tulsi didn’t take the threat of Assad seriously enough—but it was Barack Obama who drew the fictional red line for Assad and who did nothing when he reportedly used chemical weapons on his people. Instead, he allowed Putin to monitor the weapons. That is appeasement. Why didn’t the intelligence officials complain? But according to the WSJ, Tulsi is dangerous.

I am sure Tulsi, along with the entire Trump administration, will work tirelessly to weaken Iran, in contrast to Biden, Obama, and their team, who all worked to strengthen Iran and the tyrants.

I am also sure that Tulsi, along with the entire Trump team, will work to lower the price of energy, which will weaken Iran and Russia, helping to lower global inflation rates and create a more peaceful world.

The WSJ along with most of the media just keep their mouths shut on Tulsi, Pete Hegseth, and others since they rarely, if ever, demanded accountability on all of the failures during Obama and Biden.

Penn prof who celebrated murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO takes down her social media posts

Plenty of people were cheering the cold-blooded murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on the streets of New York, but none were more disturbing than the Ivy League college professors charged with teaching elite students their supposed values.

At Columbia, there was this guy from the School of Social Work, posting shortly after the news of the killing.

Today, we mourn the death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, gunned down…. wait, I'm sorry - today we mourn the deaths of the 68,000 Americans who needlessly die each year so that insurance company execs like Brian Thompson can become multimillionaires.

— Prof Zenkus (@anthonyzenkus) December 4, 2024

He hasn't been sanctioned, and he hasn't deleted let alone apologized for that tweet so far as I can tell. He did spark a lot of disgust, however.

But at Penn, which the accused killer called his alma mater, the cheerleading was even worse. Here she is:

Ah, academia. Professor #JuliaAlekseyeva, Asst Prof at U Penn celebrates the murder of #BrianThompson with music from Les Misérables, cuz shooting a CEO in the back is so courageous. #Alekseyeva states: “have never been prouder” in a TikTok post.pic.twitter.com/lHcISVQ9br pic.twitter.com/D4zdIrLscI

— Steve Steinbach (@SteveSteinbach) December 11, 2024

Julia Alekseyeva, the blue-haired professor here, jas a slew of artsy specialties in English, Russian studies, film, theatre, and even drawing, posted this ditty, alongside celebratory music suggesting revolutionary bloodshed called, "Do You Hear The People Singing," from Les Miserables, saying she's "never been prouder" to be part of Penn after that horrible incident.

Of course she was scored for it.

According to Fox News:

A University of Pennsylvania professor made some of her social media accounts private and appeared to take down her TikTok account after going viral for appearing to celebrate that the suspected killer of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson was a graduate of the Ivy League school.

Luigi Mangione, 26, is accused of executing the former insurance executive on a New York City sidewalk last week. He was taken into custody on Monday at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

A few days late, she issued an apology, which looks a little forced:

UPDATE: Professor Julia Alekseyeva of @Penn is now doing desperate damage control. We all know she’s not sorry about what she said. She’s just sorry she got caught. https://t.co/nXu349wxSw pic.twitter.com/4z2c0vn8kt

— Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) December 11, 2024

Penn has stated that no further action will be done about her.

Like Zenkus, she's a bigtime supporter of pro-Hamas Palestinian causes. And her Twitter handle is @TheSoviette, which given her orientation, may or may not be "ironic."

She kind of reminds me of Scary Poppins, the wannabe censor of "disinformation," who has Russian and Ukrainian ties, a fascination with theatre, crazy woke ideas, and an enthusiasm for making TikTok videos. She was educated at an elite school nine miles from Penn, Bryn Mawr.

In other words, we are seeing a type, and that type has already shocked us with its love for Hamas, its antisemitism, its swamp orientation, its intolerance and its elitism.

Now we see naked cheers for an accused killer of a blameless man who was the father of two kids from this exact same crowd, leading one to wonder if people like this indoctrinated the accused killer into hating capitalism and getting violent, because cheers would follow.

Maybe that calls for a closer look at what is going on at that school, particularly since they aren't going to do anything to get rid of her.

One congressman has raised that issue:

In Pennsylvania, we take pride in institutions like UPenn, but recent events have caused us to take a closer look at its leadership. Professor Julia Alekseyeva’s mocking and celebrating the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson warrants her termination. Given this… pic.twitter.com/RUxaeUcZdS

— Congressman Dan Meuser (@RepMeuser) December 11, 2024

His full message:

In Pennsylvania, we take pride in institutions like UPenn, but recent events have caused us to take a closer look at its leadership. Professor Julia Alekseyeva’s mocking and celebrating the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson warrants her termination. Given this incident, last year’s antisemitic protests on campus, and the university accepting anonymous Chinese donations for the Penn Biden Center,
