Gold Certificates : gold seal
National Bank Notes : red/brown seal

national bank notes: there were thousands of banks, each would deposit money in the US treasury. The notes were marked with the name of the bank, including which town or city and the state, and that the money was deposited by that bank in the U. S. Treasury.
And then the Green Seal: would say lawful money, but also 'for gold'. But soon, with the Marxist Rosevelt policies of the 1930s, the gold-theiving policies, the Green seals no longer would say 'gold'.
