''Evening Prayer''
"O Thou, full of mercy, renew Thy creation at the resurrection, O Lord, comfort and absolve our departed ones, who died with hope in Thee, and await Thy coming".
Prayer for the Departed
"O God of spirits and of all flesh, Who hast trampled down death and overthrown the Devil, and given life to Thy world, do Thou, the same Lord, give rest to the souls of Thy departed servants".
Other aspects of an Orthodox funeral service include:
''Trisagion''
A brief service that takes place before the funeral, where the prayer "Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us" is repeated three times.
Hymns
Four hymns are chanted after the initial prayers, asking the Lord to give rest to the deceased.
''Litany''
A litany follows the hymns, and ends with a prayer that asks for the forgiveness of sins and asks the Lord to grant rest to the deceased.
''Psalm 119''
This psalm is chanted over the departed, praising and supplicating for life in God.
