(Sorry if this has been previously posted on main board…just saw the B.L.Anon posts and not all responses)

Found this interesting Political Article on the BLACKLIST in Hollywood back in the 50's…figure, they probably just kept going…

Notice WHERE the first meeting was held…kind of goes with the one pic of the WALDORF ASTORIA HOTEL I think I saw on the main bread??

In late November 1947, facing pressure from a witch-hunting congressional committee and feeling the squeeze of plummeting movie ticket sales, some 80 studio executives, producers and lawyers gathered at a conference room at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York and established what eventually became known as the Hollywood blacklist.

The truth is the Communist Party had never been very large or influential in Hollywood. It was down to perhaps 100 active members by 1951, and most of its members were political dissidents, not spies or traitors. No matter. The studios followed through on their pledge to purge anyone who refused to cooperate with Congress (or with the studios’ own internal “clearance” process).

Said the exact same thing to Hubby…and there is absolutely NO OVERSIGHT…like a regular job and security clearances…

In essence, who are they accountable to…really? Like what is the government (former employer) gonna do if you do a no-no? You're fired?

Soo stupid!
