WASHINGTON: "The Federal Bureau of Prisons said Rayful Edmond III, a prominent drug kingpin back in the 1980s in D.C., died Tuesday. According to a report from the Washington Post, Edmond, 60, died suddenly at a halfway house in Florida. Edmond, dubbed the “king of cocaine,” had an “army of dealers and mountain of profits,” making him a large figure in D.C.’s drug scene. He was arrested back in April 1989 and was sentenced to life in prison, but after becoming an informant he was set to have been released late next year, according to the Washington Post.

No cause of death has been released yet."
