He deed, Jim
When they went up, there was a problem with the space craft, it began to decompress due to a leak, but no problem, just put on your helmet, and the suit will protect you.
Unfortunately, the suit that the Pilot Butch Wilmore, was wearing, also started to leak, and his suit began to decompress.
He soon became very unwell, as he began to suffer an acute decompression sickness, ie the "bends", and it was a race against the clock, to dock before his suit completely failed.
As they approached the ISS, he was by now, gravely ill, and this is why he was unable to dock the capsule to the ISS, and it took several attempts to do so.
Remember, when they docked, NASA feed revealed a decompression protocol exercise?
He most likely died.
Now we hear rumor's, that the ISS is going to deorbit, and It wouldn't surprise me in the least, that these two will be on it, when it does.
Why admit fault, when they can die in a blaze of Glory?
