The amount of red tape that local govts give churches trying to build is unbelievable. It took our church just over 7 years to build. Local politicians kept throwing obstacle after obstacle in the way. 3 years in, it was approved, but then the Army Corps of Engineers just showed up one day, walked the build site, and it was suddenly declared a "wet land" which means nothing could be built on that site. The church sold the property, and found another, and had to start the entire process over. Meanwhile new construction started shortly after on the original site, that they were told couldn't be developedโฆ
Finally they were eventually able to build, but the process was absolutely ridiculous.
