Police Arrest TikTok ‘Prankster’ For Spraying Poison All Over Food in Walmart, Causing $1 Million in Damage, and Posting Video of Crime to Social Media

A so-called TikTok ‘prankster’ known for wreaking havoc on the public for social media views, was arrested for spraying poison all over food in a Mesa, Arizona, Walmart.

The suspect, 27-year-old Charles Smith, was stupid enough to video his face while committing the crime. He then uploaded the video of himself committing the felony to social media.

According to court documents, Smith went back inside Walmart 10 minutes after he committed the crime and “attempted to collect the items he sprayed.”

Smith wheeled some of the poisoned items to the back of Walmart.

Walmart was forced to remove nearly $1 million in damaged food/suspected damaged food after Charles Smith ran through the store and sprayed poison all over the place.

Mesa police arrested Charles Smith on Saturday and charged him with Introducing Poison (felony), Criminal Damage (misdemeanor), Endangerment (misdemeanor), Theft (misdemeanor).

12 News reported:

According to police, Smith entered the Walmart on Stapley Drive “intending to film pranks for social media” on Dec. 19 around 8:30 p.m., but instead took a can of the bug killer from a shelf without paying for it and sprayed its contents on vegetables, fruit and rotisserie chickens available for sale.

On Smith’s recent stories page, it shows two separate videos of him putting the items that he claims were sprayed with bug killer in a cart and then pushing that cart filled with items into what appears to be a truck. One of the captions claimed he threw away the items, even though the video does not show that.

In court documents, police said Smith returned 10 minutes later and “attempted to collect the items he had sprayed,” much like in his recent videos. However, police said Smith did not throw away said items but rather wheeled them to the back of the store, and it is unknown whether or not Smith was able to collect all of the items he sprayed.

The rest of the products that Walmart removed in total cost $931,000, court documents state.

“It should be noted that the time between when the defendant sprayed the items to when he placed them in the cart, left plenty of time for customers to take the contaminated items and purchase them,” court documents state.

Germany was warned about Christmas market attack suspect – media

Saudi Arabia had reportedly requested the extradition of the alleged murderer, but got no response

The suspect behind the deadly incident at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg, a Saudi national identified as Taleb A., had prior run-ins with law enforcement, multiple media outlets reported on Saturday. His home country’s requests for extradition, however, had been met with silence.

Saudi Arabia warned the German authorities about the man about a year ago, dpa reported. The nature of the warning, however, was not immediately known. Riyadh had also requested extradition of the 50-year-old doctor, but received no response from Berlin, the kingdom’s security sources told the news agency.

German security sources stated that Saudi Arabia had warned the country’s authorities several times regarding the extremist views the suspect had openly expressed on Twitter, Reuters reports. Taleb A. is said to have been a radical anti-Islamist, who had publicly renounced his religion.

The suspect has been residing in Germany since 2006, yet obtained protected status only in 2016. Prior to that, he had a run-in with German law in 2013, when he was convicted of “disturbance of public peace by threatening crimes,” Spiegel reported.

The man ended up being fined about €900 and was permitted to stay in Germany, particularly due to fears that he would be “immediately executed” if he was sent back to his country of origin, the report suggested. The conviction apparently did not affect his asylum request.

The suspect allegedly rammed into a crowd at Magdeburg’s Christmas market on Friday evening, killing at least five people, including a child, and injuring some 200 others, including 41 who are now in serious or critical condition.

Thus far, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, authorities said on Saturday. Magdeburg Prosecutor Horst Nopens, however, suggested the attack could have been prompted by the suspect’s dissatisfaction with Berlin’s ways of handling Saudi refugees. The attacker is now facing five counts of murder, as well as over 200 counts of attempted murder, the prosecution said.

Musk calls Scholz ‘incompetent fool’ over Christmas market attack

The billionaire ally of US President-elect Donald Trump has criticized Berlin’s migration policy as treasonous

Chancellor Olaf Scholz must resign immediately, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk said after it emerged that the man who mowed through a crowded Christmas market in Germany was an Arab immigrant with a residence permit.

At least four people, including a child, were killed and dozens injured, Bild reported, citing police, when a 50-year-old man plowed a rented car 400 meters into a crowd in Magdeburg on Friday. Authorities identified the suspect, who was arrested at the scene, as a Saudi Arabian doctor who had moved to Germany in 2006 and held a permanent residence permit.

The investigation into the driver’s motive is ongoing, and authorities have yet to officially classify the incident as an act of terrorism. However, after initial reports emerged that the suspect was a foreigner, the government in Berlin faced a wave of criticism over its refugee and migrant policies.

“Scholz should resign immediately. Incompetent fool,” Musk wrote on X after the Chancellor expressed his condolences to the victims and their families over “something bad” that had happened in Magdeburg.

“Those who allowed this are traitors!” Musk added in response to another user who accused left-wing European leaders of facilitating the “mass migration of extremists who hate Christians.” In another post, Musk reacted to unconfirmed claims that Berlin had allegedly refused to extradite the suspect to Riyadh by saying: “Wow, this is insane. Whoever refused to extradite a murderer deserves to be punished severely!”

The billionaire went on reaffirm his statement that “only the AfD can save Germany,” prompting some officials in Berlin to accuse him of election interference.

“It is very disturbing the way in which the platform X, which I use very intensively myself, is increasingly being used to spread the political positions and goals of Mr. Musk,” said German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, urging German authorities to “keep a close eye on the goings-on on X.”

“Elon, I’ve initiated a policy debate inspired by ideas from you and Milei,” said the head of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), Christian Lindner. “While migration control is crucial for Germany, the AfD stands against freedom and business – it’s a far-right extremist party. Don’t rush to conclusions from afar.”

Meanwhile, Scholz responded to Musk indirectly, telling a press conference in Berlin that Germany has freedom of speech. “That also applies to multimillionaires. Freedom of speech also means that you’re able to say things that aren’t right and do not contain good political advice.”

Scholz lost a confidence vote in parliament on Monday, paving the way for snap elections early next year. He has led the German government since December 2021, heading the so-called ‘traffic light’ coalition with the Greens and the Free Democratic Party (FDP). However, the coalition disintegrated last month after Scholz dismissed his finance minister, Christian Lindner, over disagreements on economic and financial policies.
