Parents Of Female Students Outraged After Boy Parades Around Girls’ Locker Room Naked, Exposing Himself At Westosha Central High School

Several parents of female students have contacted KCE with a very serious concern. According to allegations shared with KCE by multiple sources:

A boy has been using the girls’ locker room to change at Westosha Central High School. He stares at the young girls while they change and that makes them feel very uncomfortable. Some of the girls began to use the stalls to change. When they would exit, the boy would be exposing his penis and rubbing himself with lotion. He claimed to the girls that the lotion was to “prevent chafing.”

The boy changes in the full nude, often exposing his penis and testicles. Many girls, some or most which are freshmen, approached the gym teacher, Miranda Hopkins. Hopkins told the girls that the boy “identifies” as a girl, so they have to let him have access. (Miranda is of no relation to a local school board member and teacher, Brian Hopkins, nor his father, Salem Lakes Trustee Bill Hopkins.)

There is a family locker room in the school that the girls starting using, but Hopkins told the girls they can’t use it and to stop “stirring up drama.” The girls then stopped changing in the locker room and went to gym class without the proper gym clothes on. The school punished them by marking down their grades and handing out “unexcused absences.”[/b]

One girl was allegedly assaulted by this boy as she told him to “put [his] dick away,” and he pushed the girl. He was suspended for this violence and/or smashing a chromebook in a fit of rage against another student. Some students have told school staff that the boy has threatened to “shoot up the school”, but they say the teachers laughed it off and told the students not to be “dramatic.”

5 of the most frustrating health insurer tactics and why they exist

The U.S. has made great progress in getting more people insured since the Affordable Care Act took effect in 2014. The share of uninsured Americans ages 18 to 64 fell from 18% before the ACA to 9.5% in 2022. And preexisting conditions no longer prevent coverage or lead to an increase in premiums.

Yet even for those with health insurance, coverage does not ensure access to care, much less high-quality and affordable care. Research shows that 1 in 3 Americans seeking care report delaying or forgoing treatment because of the “ administrative burdens ” of dealing with health insurance and the health care system, creating additional barriers beyond costs.

Some of these are basic tasks, such as scheduling appointments. But others relate to strategies that health insurers use to shape the care that their patients are able to receive – tactics that are often unpopular with both doctors and patients.

In addition, more than 40% of Americans under 65 have high-deductible plans, meaning patients face significant upfront costs to using care. As a result, nearly a quarter are unable to afford care despite being insured.

As scholars of health care quality and policy , we study how the affordability and design of health insurance affects people’s health as well as their out-of-pocket costs.

We’d like to unpack five of the most common strategies used by health insurers to ensure that care is medically necessary, cost-effective or both .

At best, these practices help ensure appropriate care is delivered at the lowest possible cost. At worst, these practices are overly burdensome and can be counterproductive , depriving insured patients of the care they need.

Luigi Mangione pleads not guilty to murdering healthcare CEO

Kek, Ya Thank??

maybe cause he didn't do it???

The suspect accused of killing UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson has pleaded not guilty to New York state murder and terrorism charges.

Luigi Mangione, 26, appeared in court on Monday to be arraigned on 11 state criminal counts, including murder a crime of terrorism.

As well as the state-level charges, he is also accused of federal (national-level) stalking and murder offences that could lead to a death penalty sentence.

Prosecutors allege that Mr Mangione shot Mr Thompson in central Manhattan before going on the run. Authorities later arrested him at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania.

Mr Mangione appeared in court on Monday wearing a maroon sweater, white-collared shirt and khaki pants.

In addition to a long stream of journalists waiting for the suspect to appear, members of the public - almost all of them young women - were in court, some of whom told CBS, the BBC's US partner, that they were there to show their support.

Mr Mangione is facing 11 state criminal counts in New York, including first-degree murder and murder as a crime of terrorism.

If convicted of all the counts, he would face a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Federal prosecutors have also separately charged Mr Mangione for using a firearm to commit murder and interstate stalking resulting in death. Both charges could make him eligible for the death penalty.

He has yet to enter a plea on those charges.

Prosecutors have said the federal and state cases will move forward parallel with one another.

In court last week, Mr Mangione's lawyer - Karen Friedman Agnifilo - said that the two sets of charges appear to conflict, with the state charges accusing him of seeking to "intimidate or coerce a civilian population" while the federal charges focus on crimes against an individual.

Ms Agnifilo said that the overlapping cases were "confusing" and "highly unusual".

"I've never seen anything like what is happening here" in 30 years of practicing law, she said.

In court on Monday, she further told the judge that she believed that statements from government officials - including New York City Mayor Eric Adams - make her "very concerned about my client's right to a fair trial".

"This is a young man," she said. "He is being treated like a human ping-pong ball between two warring jurisdictions here."

She also accused state and federal authorities of treating Mr Mangione like "political fodder" and a "spectacle" by bringing back to New York by helicopter, surrounded by officials and armed guards, in full view of cameras and journalists.

The judge, Gregory Carro, said that he is unable to control what happens outside court, but vowed that Mr Mangione would receive a fair trial.

In response, the state's prosecutor said that he had never seen a case with a "higher volume" of quality evidence.
