Ecuador to hand over Assange to UK ‘in coming weeks or days,’ own sources tell RT's editor-in chief

Published time: 20 Jul, 2018 11:12

Ecuador is ready to hand over the WikiLeaks founder to the UK in “coming weeks or even days,” RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said citing her own sources, as prospects of his eviction from the embassy are back in the media.

“My sources tell [Julian] Assange will be handed over to Britain in the coming weeks or even days,” Simonyan wrote in a recent tweet which was reposted by WikiLeaks. “Like never before, I wish my sources were wrong,” she continued.

Simonyan's message comes, as speculations Ecuador is in talks with the UK over the future of Assange are back again in British press. Earlier this week, the Times reported Britain is locked in top-tier discussions with the Ecuadorians in a bid to remove Assange from their London embassy.

Sir Alan Duncan, the Foreign Office minister, is said to be spearheading the diplomatic effort. Sources close to Assange said he himself was not aware of the talks but believed that America was putting “significant pressure” on Ecuador, including threatening to block a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) if he continues to stay at the embassy.

The Times report comes just weeks before a visit to the UK by the newly-elected Ecuadorian president Lenin Moreno, who has labeled Assange a “hacker”, an “inherited problem” and a “stone in the shoe.”

There have been other worrying signs indicating Assange is steadily becoming a troublemaker for Ecuador. In late March this year, the Ecuadorian government has suspended Assange’s communication privileges with the outside world, cutting off his Internet connection at the embassy.

The move was sparked by Assange’s alleged breach of an agreement to refrain from interfering in other states’ affairs. Previously, he blasted the Spanish government for cracking down on the Catalan independence movement.

Assange has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy since 2012 when he asked the Latin American state for asylum. The 47-year-old was wanted by Sweden on sexual assault allegations, but feared the extradition would lead to him being transferred to the US and prosecuted without a fair trial.

The US has been saying that Assange was “engaged in terrorism,” with Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, last year calling his arrest a “priority.” Over the years, WikiLeaks has published hundreds of thousands of classified US files, including the cables on the Iraq War, leaked by whistleblower Chelsea Manning in 2010.

Despite the Swedish investigation against him being closed in May last year, the Australian journalist was still unable to leave the embassy because of an outstanding British warrant for allegedly breaching bail conditions and no guarantees of him not being sent to the US.

Just look at the economic numbers, the fact that every sector across the board is in better shape then they have been in 30 years. This includes jobs for all American's regardless of color or creed.

Push that one narrative alone to get the vote out for Potus and conservatives running in elections and the understanding it's will all fall to the wayside and the only thing they will have to look forward to is increasing debt, loss of home, job etc. etc. if they don't, should inspire more voters and votes at the voting booths.

Asia Argento shares photo of Anthony Bourdain from just before his suicide

By Jessica Sager July 20, 2018 | 9:56am

Asia Argento remains heartbroken over the suicide death of boyfriend Anthony Bourdain.

On Thursday, the Italian actress posted a photo she took with the “Parts Unknown” host on May 24, just weeks before he hanged himself in a French hotel room.

In the photo, Bourdain, then 61, holds a parasol over Argento, 42, as they ride in a convertible.

Argento captioned the snapshot with a heartbreaking passage from Dante Alighieri’s “Inferno,” a section of the classic “Divine Comedy.”

The excerpt translates to, “There is no greater woe than looking back on happiness in days of misery. Your guide can tell you so. But if you are so eager to retrace our love’s earliest root, then I will make it known as one who speaks with tears upon her face.”

Earlier this week, Argento admitted that she had no idea that Bourdain had an “obsession” with suicide.

Since Bourdain’s suicide, Argento has coped with the help of her friends, including actress Rose McGowan, who rushed to her side when news of the globetrotter’s death first hit.

Michael Cohen secretly taped Trump discussing Playmate hush money

By Bob Fredericks July 20, 2018 | 12:16pm

President Trump’s lawyer and self-described fixer Michael Cohen secretly recorded a chat with the Trump two months before the election in which they discussed payments to a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with the future president, a new report said Friday.

The FBI seized the recording — along with scores of others as well as Cohen’s cell phones and computers — after raiding Cohen’s office, home and hotel room earlier this year, The New York Times reported.

The feds are investigating Cohen for, among other things, paying hush money to women, including porn vixen Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, the Playboy model, to clam up about their alleged flings with the president.

Daniels charges that she had a one-night stand with Trump in 2006 shortly after his third wife, Melania, gave birth to their son.

McDougal said she and Trump had a year-long affair the same year.

The recording’s existence increases the danger that the once-loyal Cohen presents to the president, who has denied both the affairs and knowing anything about the payments.

Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer and regular TV defender, told The Times that the president had discussed the hush money payments with Cohen on the two-minute recording — but that no payment was ever made.

“Nothing in that conversation suggests that he had any knowledge of it in advance,” Giuliani said, adding that Trump had told Cohen that if he were to make a payment to the woman, he should write a check instead of sending cash so it could be documented.

“In the big scheme of things, it’s powerful exculpatory evidence,” Giuliani insisted.

Cohen’s lawyers discovered the recording while reviewing evidence seized in the raids and reportedly shared it with Trump’s lawyers.

“We have nothing to say on this matter,” Cohen’s lawyer, former Clintonista Lanny Davis, told the paper when asked about the tape.

McDougal sold her story to The National Enquirer for $150,000 during the final months of the campaign, but the tabloid killed the story, a practice called “catch and kill,” that kept the story out of the public eye.

When The Wall Street Journal revealed the payment days before the election, Hope Hicks, Trump’s spokeswoman claimed: “We have no knowledge of any of this” and that McDougal’s claim was “totally untrue.”

Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels lawyer, has been crowing about Cohen’s recordings since learning of them May.

“Just like the Nixon tapes years ago, we now have what I will refer to as the Trump Tapes,” Avenatti told reporters late that month.

Cohen reportedly paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet, though she later told her story on “60 Minutes.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Yep … we are human, casting stones on this only makes 90% of the people who do it, men and women alike, turn away as fast as they can from a story like this else they have to admit their own guilt.

It appears Melania forgave him if true

One more thought

Consider the fact that so many one night married stands happen daily in this country. Consider this only make Potus more like those who have found themselves in familiar circumstances and in extension more like them.

They don't consider themselves bad people … just vulnerable to a momentary lapse in judgement. I think they will fall on that sword when deciding how to parcel this out in their own mind and how it relates to being a personal issue for Potus the bigger picture and not a national one.

It's call lying. Brennan is adept at it. Along with manipulation and deceit. I think the only thing this man did his whole life was develop this sociopathy to reinforce his psychotic nature.
