What is immediately obvious at the first frame of vid, is there are two people on the dock, standing by the boat.
One at the front, one at the rear, they would be there to untie boat from its mooring.
There appears to be another person at the helm of the boat itself, likely starting the engine.
These types of vessels have inboard engines, very likely a V8 MerCruiser of some description, around the 250 HP power range.
The boat has an under deck fuel tank, holding at least 40 gallons.
In the engine compartment under the deck, there are exhaust fans, which are supposed to run for at least 10 minutes prior to engine start.
The exhaust fans are designed to evacuate any fuel vapor, which commonly builds up below deck, just in case of a spark on startup.
The correct starting procedure has not been adhered to, resulting in the explosion.
Not cool for anyone on board the boat at the time, but the flip top deck is a sight to behold.
