Arizona ‘villain’ Charles Smith arrested after filming himself spray bug killer pesticide on food inside Walmart
A self-described Arizona social media “villain” was arrested after he filmed himself allegedly spraying bed bug killer on groceries inside a Walmart as he boasted to police about his prank videos.
Charles Smith, 27, is accused of grabbing a can of Hot Shot Ultra Bed Bug and Flea Killer and unleashing the pesticide on a series of perishable items in the Mesa, Ariz. megastore around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 19.
In the now-deleted video, the influencer filmed himself wearing a black hoodie and pink bandana while spraying the toxin on bananas, acorn squash, potatoes, lemons, green apples and Roma tomatoes at the store — located in a neighborhood southeast of Phoenix.
Police claim the TikTokker, who goes by the username WolfieKahletti, intentionally went to the store to film pranks for his channel.
Smith identifies as an online “troll,” according to court documents viewed by Az Family. He has more than 300,000 followers on TikTok.
The troublemaker allegedly told police that he makes between $6,000 – $10,000 per month filming his provocative prank videos.
”I think social media has got people doing crazy things out here,” Walmart shopper Xavier Griego told the outlet. “It’s unfortunate that somebody would mess up their whole life, potentially, for something on social media for views.”
Smith voluntarily turned himself over to police on Dec. 21.
He faces charges of introducing poison (a felony) as well as three misdemeanors that include criminal damage, endangerment and theft.
A spokesperson from Walmart told AZ Family that store employees removed the directly impacted products and cleaned the affected areas of the store.
It’s not clear if any customers were injured from eating the contaminated items.
“This incident underscores the potential dangers of reckless actions disguised as social media pranks,” the Mesa Police Department said in a statement.
Other videos posted online by Smith include the posts of him seemingly mixing in bacon and eggs in a stranger’s load at the laundromat as well as locking people inside a different grocery store.

Suspects convicted of tampering with consumer products face up to 5 to 20 years in prison.
In 2022, an Arizona man was sentenced to 10 years of probation after being convicted of adding harmful chemicals to food at several retail stores in the Phoenix area.
David Lohr was ordered to pay restitution to a grocery chain for $390.42 and ordered to participate in a mental health evaluation and any additional recommended treatment.
There were no reported injuries or illnesses associated with the tampered items during the 2018 stunt, prosecutors said.
Lohr was accused of tampering with products at stores in California one year later and sentenced to a 51-month prison term followed by three years of supervised release with mental health services.

New Footage Shows Illegal Alien Fanning Flames as Woman Burned Alive on Subway — NYPD Officer Walks Past Without Intervening
Newly surfaced footage reveals a woman being set ablaze on a New York City subway platform.
The suspect, identified as an illegal immigrant, is seen intensifying the flames, while an NYPD officer allegedly walks past without intervening.
The Gateway Pundit reported on Sunday that a woman was fatally lit on fire aboard a stationary F train at Brooklyn’s Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station.
The attack occurred around 7:30 a.m. when the suspect, without any prior interaction, approached the woman—who appeared to be sleeping—and ignited her clothing using a lighter.
Police believe that the man was sitting across from her on the train while she was napping and that he got up and tossed a lit match at her.
“Liquor bottles were laying around the victim, though it wasn’t clear if they played any part in the blaze,” the Post report adds.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the act as “one of the most depraved crimes one person could possibly commit against another human being.”
Officers on routine patrol detected smoke and discovered the woman engulfed in flames. Police extinguished the fire, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities eventually removed the woman via a body bag and wheeled it outside.
The suspect, a 33-year-old Guatemalan illegal alien who entered the U.S. in 2018 and was deported by Trump admin, remained on the platform after the attack.
Later that day, three high school students recognized him from images released by the NYPD and alerted authorities.
Transit officers apprehended the suspect on another train, finding a lighter in his possession, according to the New York Post.
New footage revealed that the suspect remained at the station after the attack, sitting on a nearby bench.
As flames consumed the victim, the suspect was seen exacerbating the situation by fanning the flames.
Adding to the outrage, a transit police officer is seen walking past the burning woman, appearing to speak on a radio but continuing down the platform without rendering immediate assistance or attempting to apprehend the perpetrator.

Bashar al-Assad's wife files for divorce, unhappy with life in Moscow
-Asma al-Assad's divorce plea under review by Russian authorities
-She was born in London and married Bashar al-Assad in 2000
-Bashar al-Assad got asylum in Moscow this month after he was deposed by rebels
Asma al-Assad, the wife of Syria's ousted president Bashar al-Assad, has filed for divorce after she was not satisfied with her life in Moscow, where her family is staying under asylum, according to Turkish and Arab media reports. She is reportedly keen to shift to her hometown London.
Asma, a British-Syrian national, was born and raised in London by Syrian parents, according to BBC. She moved to Syria in 2000 at the age of 25 and married Bashar al-Assad in the same year.
The 49-year-old former First Lady has filed her divorce application in a Russian court and requested special permission to leave Moscow. Her plea was being reviewed by Russian authorities, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Earlier this month, Bashar al-Assad and his family, including Asma, were granted asylum in Moscow after the authoritarian leader was dramatically overthrown by rebels led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), ending his family's five decades of iron-clad rule.
Although the HTS is a designated terrorist organisation by the US, Washington recently lifted the USD 10 million bounty on its leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani's head.
Bashar al-Assad had been the president for 24 years, taking office in 2000 and succeeding his father Hafez al-Assad, who ruled from 1971 to 2000.
Although Russia accepted his asylum request, Bashar al-Assad is believed to be facing severe restrictions and he is not allowed to leave Moscow or get involved in any political activities.
Russian authorities have also frozen his money and assets, which include 270 kilograms of gold, USD 2 billion and 18 apartments in Moscow, according to The Jerusalem Post.
According to Saudi and Turkish reports, Bashar al-Assad's brother Maher al-Assad has not been granted asylum in Russia and he and his family are under house arrest. Maher's asylum request is still under review, reports said.

Wave of Attempted Arson Attacks Hits Russia
Russia has seen a wave of attempted arson attacks targeting banks, shopping centers, post offices and government buildings over the last three days, according to media reports.
Around 20 separate cases of individuals trying to set off small explosive devices or launching fireworks into buildings have been recorded since Friday, mostly in St. Petersburg, Moscow and the surrounding suburbs, according to the state-run TASS news agency and the independent Fontanka site.
Citing an unnamed law enforcement source, TASS reported that the people had been recruited by online fraudsters offering money for the attempted attacks.
Footage from surveillance cameras at some of the sites, shared on social media, appeared to show individuals using their mobile phones to film the fires they tried to set off.
Images from the aftermath of one attack showed a destroyed ATM and nearby windows blown out, while another showed a burnt-out police car.
Cash machines of state-run banks, shopping centers, post offices, military enlistment offices, police vehicles and other administrative buildings have all been targeted.
State lender Sberbank reported a 30% increase in attempted arson attacks over the last week, according to the RIA Novosti state news agency citing the bank's press service.
Most of those detained after the attempted attacks were pensioners, TASS reported.
Sberbank said they had been recruited by scammers in Ukraine.
Moscow's FSB security service has previously warned Russians that Ukrainian fraudsters, posing as security agents, have called elderly citizens asking them to carry out arson attacks in exchange for money, or to regain access to blocked accounts.
There was no reaction from Kyiv to the wave of attempted attacks or accusations they were being orchestrated from Ukrainian territory.
Several Russian military enlistment offices were hit in arson attacks using homemade Molotov cocktails since Moscow ordered troops into Ukraine in February 2022.
The recruitment buildings became more heavily targeted after President Vladimir Putin announced an unpopular conscription drive in September 2022 that saw more than 300,000 Russians forcibly drafted to fight in the conflict.
Russian courts have handed out several years-long prison sentences to those arrested for the attacks.
