Diddy Demands Sanctions Days After Male Accuser Drags J. Lo Into Court Battle

Diddy asked a federal judge to award him sanctions against the male prisoner suing him over an alleged sexual assault that the mogul claims never happened, In Touch can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Diddy, 55, and his legal team demanded the court stop Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith’s lawsuit from moving forward.

Diddy’s lawyer pointed out that Derrick is currently “serving a decades-long sentence” and accused him of “attempting to leverage the federal judiciary as a tool for harassment and extortion.”

They point out, “[Derrick] has filed several, substantially identical lawsuits against [Diddy], in each case demanding enormous sums of money based on wholesale fabrications.”

Diddy’s lawyer continued, “His frequent filings clearly indicate he has no intention of stopping his meritless attacks. As a result of [Derrick’s] harassment, [Diddy] has incurred significant legal fees and costs. [Derrick’s] barrage of meritless, fraudulent filings must come to an end.”

Diddy asked that the court order Derrick to stop bringing, without prior court permission, any new filings. Further, the entertainer asked that Derrick be ordered to pay his legal fees in the case.

Diddy’s lawyer claimed, “This is not [Derrick’s] first attempt at a shakedown — and unless this Court intervenes, it will not be his last. [Derrick] has a lengthy history of filing frivolous lawsuits in this District and beyond.”

“The overwhelming majority, if not all, of [Derrick’s] cases have been dismissed as meritless. Still, he has continued filing. Numerous judges have admonished [Derrick] to stop litigating vexatiously,” Diddy’s lawyer pointed out.

Former Riverside County sheriff's deputy accused of attempting sex with a minor dies by suicide

A former Riverside County sheriff’s deputy arrested earlier this month and accused of attempting to have sex with a minor killed himself last week, according to authorities.

Anthony Russo, 52, was found dead inside his Arrowbear Lake home Friday, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office confirmed.

The coroner’s office did not immediately respond to questions about who found him or the nature of the suicide.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said it had no details to provide since the case was outside its jurisdiction.

The department did “extend our condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic loss.”

Russo had been out on $50,000 bail after having been arrested Dec. 11 at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where he was assigned at the time of the criminal investigation.

He was arrested by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau after the agency received a tip, according to the sheriff’s department.

Russo believed he was communicating electronically with a 15-year-old with whom he shared sexually explicit material and asked to meet up for sex, according to the sheriff’s department. The person he contacted was instead an undercover investigator.

Russo was booked on two felony counts. He was eventually charged by the Riverside County district attorney’s office with one felony count of knowingly distributing harmful material.

5 xs since 1900

Is that a 5 Marker?

Since 1900, the first night of Hanukkah has fallen on December 25 five times: 1910, 1921, 1959, 2005, and now 2024. The first night of Hanukkah, which begins on the 25th day of the Jewish month Kislev, changes year to year because the Jewish calendar relies on a lunar calendar, based on how long it takes the moon to go around the sun. The lunar calendar is about 354 days long, as opposed to the 365-day solar calendar, which is the time it takes for the Earth to revolve around the sun.

That shorter lunar calendar means that from one year to the next, Hanukkah, which lasts eight nights, will start 11 days earlier. Hanukkah can begin as early as Thanksgiving, but New York Board of Rabbis President Elie Weinstock notes that the Festival of Lights always happens in the winter because Jewish tradition requires holidays to take place during particular seasons
