I disagree with his premise. Why should we be investing in foreigner education in the first place?
It's one thing to import uniquely high-talent individuals to fill important jobs (think Los Alamos Laboratory kind of stuff), but that is not what the discussion is actually about. H1-B is by and large used to undercut middle/upper-middle class wages in the corporate sector.
Would MUCH rather that university seat be given to a natural born citizen.

Elon and Vivek are not being clear then what they are stumping for. I get the feeling they are using this "0.1%" argument as cover for more H1Bs, when that's not really what the program provides.
If Elon is really only interested in bringing over the very best, he wouldn't mind shutting down the H1B program then, right?
