Federal civil rights complaint filed against Rochester, Minnesota schools’ race-based teacher programs.

"Minnesota nice", unless you're white…

Rochester Public Schools is facing some tough questions after a federal civil rights complaint accused the district of excluding teachers from opportunities based on race.

Parents Defending Education (PDE), a national advocacy group, filed the complaint last week, claiming the district’s teacher programs violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

“PDE and its members oppose discrimination on the basis of race and political indoctrination in America’s schools. Rochester Public Schools has affinity group programming for some teachers, that is not open to all. The District allows only some teachers to participate in affinity group programming, mentoring, and scholarship opportunities and their participation is based on their race,” the complaint says.

The controversy centers on the district’s “Employees of Color Resource Group” and its “Grow Your Own” program. Both initiatives are designed to support and retain teachers of color, offering benefits like mentorship, scholarships, and career development.

Rochester Public Schools describes its “Grow Your Own” program as an “adult pathway program” reserved for “teachers/individuals of color.”

PDE argues that these programs, partially funded by $136,400 in grants, illegally exclude non-minority educators.

2024 was the worst year ever for legacy media, and it ain’t even close.

Journalism morphed into blatant activism before our eyes.

We were told things we all witnessed or heard didn’t actually happen.

But Americans knew better, and the gaslighting got increasingly hysterical as the year went on.

2024 was a year of gaslighting — here are 4 of the worst media lies.

US homelessness rose by record 18% in latest annual data.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - There was a record 18% rise in homelessness in the U.S. in the last year, driven by factors like unaffordable housing, high inflation, systemic racism, natural disasters and rising immigration, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said on Friday.

"Our worsening national affordable housing crisis, rising inflation, stagnating wages among middle- and lower-income households, and the persisting effects of systemic racism have stretched homelessness services systems to their limits," the Department of Housing and Urban Development said.

It also noted "additional public health crises, natural disasters that displaced people from their homes, rising numbers of people immigrating to the U.S., and the end to homelessness prevention programs put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Wisconsin election officials discovered nearly 200 absentee ballots went uncounted during November's general election.

The missing ballots were found "during post-election reconciliation and cleanup" and did not affect the outcome of any election, but they could have.

The City of Madison Clerk's Office said it informed the state election board on Dec. 20 of the 193 missing absentee ballots and that they would contact each of the voters to notify them of the mistake.

Mexico tests cellphone app allowing migrants to send alert if they are about to be detained in US.

Mexico is developing a cellphone app that will allow migrants to warn relatives and local consulates if they think they are about to be detained by the U.S. immigration department, a senior official said Friday.

The move is in response to President-elect Donald Trump’s threats to carry out mass deportations after he takes office on Jan. 20.

Democrats still don’t seem to understand just how far their brand has fallen.(hard to believe MSNBC allowed this to be published)

Democrats lost because they didn’t have their own Joe Rogan or because Harris was too progressive or because Gen Z abandoned them. But if you have actually spoken to Trump supporters, as I have, then you know that none of this really mattered as Americans entered the voting booths Nov. 5.

What exactly can Democrats do here? Unfortunately, it seems like the current consensus within the Democratic Party is to lean further to the center. Which is a conclusion you can only come to if you ignore everything Trump supporters have been saying since 2016. Not only will they happily follow Trump down any section of the political compass he chooses, but they will also lash out at anything and everything Democrats do. If Harris had spent the summer literally repeating everything Trump said, she still would have lost because she’s a Democrat. No viral podcaster is going to fix that reputation problem.

Pelosi's House Ethics Committee Caught in Multiple Staggering Lies in Gaetz Report.

The release of an investigation by the House Ethics Committee into his professional and private life begun during former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's 117th Congress highly unusual. The interest of the House Ethics Committee is generally into the ethics of sitting members.

The report's major takeaways were that "there is evidence that Representative Gaetz paid women to travel to New York and Washington, D.C. for commercial sex" and that there was also "substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz used cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana."

To a certain extent, Gaetz has never claimed he's been a choirboy all his life. "Let me first remind everyone that I am a representative in Congress, not a monk, and certainly not a criminal," he said in an Op-Ed for the Washington Examiner in 2021, after the first spate of reports regarding his private life began coming out.

“My personal life is and always has been conducted on my own time and my own dime. Consensual adult relationships are not illegal. Although I’m sure some partisan crooks in Merrick Garland’s Justice Department want to pervert the truth and the law to go after me, I will not be intimidated or extorted," Gaetz wrote.
