They want to price out Americans from the market, so even fewer than 5% choose engineering major next year.

 

Only 5% shoose Engineering because you're better off being a plumber in America

 

And people don't even know that companies are INCENTIVIZED to hire H1-B's over Americans, since they don't pay FICA taxes. So the company saves an IMMEDIATE 6.5% on salary, even before offering them less than Americans (which they do even though they're not supposed to).

 

There should be a FICA REPLACEMENT TAX on H1-B labor, to level the playing field, and help plug the gap in social security

and that's exactly what's happening.

 

some schools do have scholarship programs, but they will force the student's parents into poverty before giving money to a US student. But international students get the money easy
