Trump supports immigration visas backed by Musk: ‘I have many H-1B visas on my properties’

President-elect Trump told The Post Saturday he supports immigration visas for highly skilled workers, appearing to side with Elon Musk in the roiling intra-MAGA debate on the issue.

“I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,” Trump said by phone, referring to the H-1B program, which permits companies to hire foreign workers in specialty occupations.

“I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program,” added Trump, who restricted access to foreign worker visas in his first administration and has been critical of the program in the past.

Musk and other tech barons argued this week that the H-1B visa program is critical to ensuring American companies can find highly skilled labor which may not be easily available in the U.S. labor force and must be expanded.

MAGA hardliners want Trump to follow through with his promise to promote US workers and impose tougher restrictions on immigration.

Trump’s Saturday comments come a day after Musk vowed to go to “war” on the issue, telling one mocking opponent to go “f–k yourself.”

The flare-up happened after X user Steven Mackey jabbed the billionaire’s defense of the program by using the billionaire’s own words against him.

“Stop trying to optimize something that shouldn’t exist,” a line often used by Musk, Mackey wrote. “Let’s optimize H-1B,” he sarcastically added.

Musk fired back: “The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla, and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.”

“Take a big step back and F–K YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend,” he added, paragraphing a memorable line from the 2008 comedy “Tropic Thunder.”

The tech billionaire has been criticized by MAGA diehards including Laura Loomer and Ann Coulter — who say the H-1B visa program has been abused and needs to be sharply curtailed.

And influential voices around Trump have publicly begun turning on Musk as well.

“Someone please notify ‘Child Protective Services’— need to do a ‘wellness check’ on this toddler,” former White House Counselor Steve Bannon jeered at the X boss in a Saturday post to his account on Gettr.

Musk said his passion for the issue stemmed from wanting America to remain competitive by attracting “the top ~0.1% of engineering talent” which he said was essential for “America to keep winning.”

Paul Bamba, who broke a Mike Tyson record that stood for 38 years, dies six days after 14th fight of 2024

Boxer Paul Bamba has died at the age of 35 just days after winning the WBA gold cruiserweight title. Bamba's manager, Grammy Award winner Ne-Yo, announced the fighter's death on social media.

On Dec. 21, Bamba knocked out Rogelio Medina in New Jersey for his 14th consecutive stoppage win in the span of 12 months. In the process, Bamba broke Mike Tyson's record for most professional fights in a one-year span.

Less than one week later, Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, issued a statementannouncing that Bamba had died at just 35 years old.

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched countless lives," Ne-Yo wrote in a statement.

"He was a fierce yet confident competitor with an unrelenting ambition to achieve greatness. But more than anything, he was a tremendous individual that inspired many with his exceptional drive and determination.

"We are heartbroken by his passing and kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this difficult time as we collectively navigate our grief."

Following his cruiserweight title win over Medina, Bamba was immediately eyeing his next fight. Speaking with Bloody Elbow, Bamba called out Jake Paul, saying he was the influencer-turned-boxer's quickest shot at a real title bet.

"Jake talks a lot about wanting to be a world champion so my simple message to him is that I have something that you want; a real title," Bamba said.

In the wake of Bamba's passing, Paul posted on social media, "RIP Paul Bamba."

Bamba, a Puerto Rican and Marine Corps veteran, fought his way up the boxing ranks after turning pro in January 2021. Bamba's win over Medina gave him a career record of 19-3.

Spy equipment found on Russian “shadow fleet” tanker detained in Finland after undersea cable damage

Spy equipment used for monitoring NATO naval and aircraft activities was reportedly discovered on the tanker Eagle S, according to a reportby the British shipping journal Lloyd's List, citing a source with direct involvement with the vessel. The ship, suspected of having ties to Russia, was recently detained by Finnish authorities.

According to the source, the sophisticated equipment aboard the Eagle S was abnormal for a commercial vessel,as it consumed significant amounts of power from the ship’s generator, causing frequent power outages.

Similar equipment was reportedly found on another tanker, the Honduras-flagged Swiftsea Rider, which is owned by the same group as the Cook Islands-flagged Eagle S. The Swiftsea Rider is under UK sanctions.

According to Lloyd's List, both ships are part of Russia's “shadow fleet” — a network of tankers tied to Russiathrough opaque ownership structures and engaged in activities that violate Western sanctions.

The source claimed that surveillance and recording equipment were brought aboard the Eagle S in “huge portable suitcases,” along with “many laptops” that had Turkish and Russian keyboards, during port calls in Russia and Turkey. A non-crew member was also reportedly present on the ship during its voyage.

Finnish Coast Guard officials boarded the Eagle S as part of an investigation into potential sabotage related to the Dec. 25 damage to the Estlink 2 energy cable. The cable, which lies on the Baltic Sea floor, connects Finland and Estonia. Finnish police allege that the tanker slowed down and dragged its anchor around the cable, causing the damage. The following day, three additional undersea cables linking Finland and Estonia were also reported damaged.

An anonymous source shared over 60 confidential documents about the Eagle S with Lloyd’s List in June, including a vetting report detailing numerous safety violations identified during an inspection conducted while the tanker was anchored in Danish waters that same month.

Insurance and Taxes Now Cost More Than Mortgages for Many Homeowners

Soaring costs for home insurance and property taxes are busting homeowners’ budgets.

Insurers have pushed big rate increases because of losses from natural disasters and rising costs to repair homes. Surging home values in recent years, meanwhile, have lifted property taxes for many homeowners.

These ballooning expenses are rewriting the math of homeownership. In September, 32% of the average single-family mortgage payment went to property taxes and home insurance, the highest rate ever for data going back to 2014, according to Intercontinental Exchange.

The analysis is based on borrowers who use escrow accounts to pay their taxes and insurance as part of their monthly mortgage payments.

For a small but increasing share of households, the burden is far more significant. In five major metro areas—Rochester and Syracuse, N.Y.; Omaha, Neb.; New Orleans and Miami—at least a quarter of borrowers spend more than half their monthly mortgage payment on taxes and insurance, according to ICE.

These metro areas have high property taxes or pricey home insurance relative to typical home costs, or both.

Nationwide, taxes and insurance make up more than half of the monthly mortgage payment for 9% of single-family mortgages. That is up from less than 4% at the end of 2014.

Rising taxes and insurance premiums intensify the lack of affordability home buyers already face because of record-high home prices and elevated mortgage rates. Those deterrents have led many home shoppers to give up this year, putting sales of existing homes on pace for their worst year since 1995.

But while mortgage rates fluctuate, climbing property taxes and insurance costs show no sign of reversing.

These costs also pose a growing and often unexpected burden for homeowners, even those who purchased or refinanced when mortgage rates were near historic lows.

Those most at risk are older homeowners on fixed incomes, said Joshua Stewart, director of federal policy and advocacy for Fahe, a network of more than 50 nonprofit housing organizations across six states.

“Even if their mortgage payment went away 10, 15, 20 years ago, they’ve done the math for their retirement based on increases of some kind, but not these massive ones,” Stewart said. “That really eats into their housing burden.”

Some homeowners are questioning their purchases after feeling the pinch of higher costs. When Lisa and Michael Landry bought their New Orleans home in 2015, their property taxes, home insurance and flood insurance cost about $725 a month….

Former Freedom Caucus chair on Johnson: ‘I'm going to keep my options open’

Rep. Scott Perry said Thursday that he’s not committing to voting for Mike Johnson for speaker, adding a former Freedom Caucus chair to the conservative crowd sowing doubt over Johnson’s prospects to retake the gavel.

“I think that Mike has done an admirable job under tough conditions, but I'm going to keep my options open,” Perry (R-Pa.) said Friday morning on Fox Business. “I want to have a conversation with Mike.”

Perry’s comments come after current HFC Chair Andy Harris (R-Md.) said Thursday that Republicans need to consider if current leadership “is what we need” going into unified GOP government next year, adding that he is “undecided” on who should be in House leadership come January.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) was the first Republican to promise that he’ll vote against Johnson for speaker, pledging to vote for someone else. But Harris, Perry and Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) all publicly voicing indecision could spell trouble for Johnson.

The House will vote to elect a speaker on Jan. 3, just one week from Friday, and with Republicans’ razor-thin margin, any defections could put Johnson’s speakership in jeopardy. Republicans are expected to have a 219-215 majority on Jan. 3, and Johnson can only afford to have one Republican vote against him.

The speaker is taking heat from his conference’s right flank over his handling of the stopgap funding bill to keep the government funded until mid-March. There is specific dissatisfaction over federal spending and lack of offsets.

There is one voice that Perry says could end speculation and indecision over the speakership: President-elect Donald Trump.

“We’ve just got to make sure that we get the best person for the job under the circumstances,” Perry said. “And I'll tell you the one that might be able to make the difference is, quite honestly, President Trump. Whoever the president backs is likely to be the speaker, regardless.”

And Perry added his top priority is ensuring that Congress can deliver on the incoming Trump administration’s agenda.

“These members are signaling that they don't know that they have the confidence in Mike to be able to do that based on past performance,” said Perry.

Even though he should be replaced, they have too small of a margin to make a difference. And he's somewhat trained to hit the floor running when Trump gets in the 20th. They waited too long to do this. The only one that would be a possible would be Massie, he's at least 30% smarter than most of them.

Bill Maher Confronts Jay Leno With Gambling Debt Rumors

Bill Maher confronted Jay Leno, 74, with a “conspiracy theory” that the former Tonight Showhost’s spate of accidents in recent years were the result of a gambling addiction gone wrong.

“It’s a conspiracy theory since you’ve had three accidents that you actually have gambling debts and are being beaten up by the mob,” Maher told Leno, who laughed off the suggestion as he appeared on the Club Random podcast.

“I love the idea that the mob would drive to Greenberg, Pennsylvania, wait outside the Hampton Inn on a kind of sleety, rainy day to throw me down a hill,” Leno joked, referring to the most recent accident—which left him with a bruised face and sporting an eyepatch after he says he rolled down a steep hill and hit his eye on a rock.

Before that, Leno suffered multiple injuries related to maintaining his classic car collection, including one in which he set his face on fire and another that resulted in multiple broken bones.

All of this led to speculation that Leno, whose net worth is estimated to be north of $450 million, was the victim of loan sharks to whom he owed money. For years, Leno said publicly that he never spent his salary as longtime host of The Tonight Show and only lived off the income he received as a touring stand-up comic.

After Maher explained that no one thinks the mob threw him down a hill, but rather that he is coming up with elaborate “cover stories” for his bad luck. However, Leno calmly assured him that all of his injuries have perfectly reasonable explanations.

“I like the idea that they wouldn’t just take one of my cars to pay the gambling debt,” Leno said.

The comedian went on to recount that his Tonight Show predecessor Johnny Carson did actually run afoul of organized crime after he was caught “hitting on” a pair of mob girlfriends.

“They put a hit out on Carson. So Carson stops The Tonight Show for the week. He just goes, he leaves, because this is real,” Leno told Maher, adding that the hit was only called off after NBC agreed to air coverage of an Italian “parade” run by the Five Families.

Elon Musk urges supporters not to donate to Wikipedia over DEI

Elon Musk urged his supporters not to donate to the nonprofit that runs Wikipedia after the organization budgeted more than $50 million to spend on controversial diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

“Stop donating to Wokepedia until they restore balance to their editing authority,” Musk wrote Tuesday on X, where he has nearly 210 million followers.

The Tesla mogul, and key adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, was responding to a post by the right-leaning commentator “Libs of TikTok,” who shared a pie chart that showed 29% of Wikipedia’s $177 million budget for 2023-24 was targeted for “equity” and “safety & inclusion.“

The Wikimedia Foundation site said that it set a goal of spending $51.7 million in its budget: 17.6% ($31.2 million) on equity, and 11.6% ($20.5 million) on safety and inclusion. Infrastructure got the bulk of the $177 million with 48.7% ($86.1 million), followed by 22.2% ($39.2 million) on effectiveness.

“Supporting equity represents the second largest part of our programmatic work, with grants and Movement support representing the majority of the budget within the equity goal,” according to the nonprofit.

DEI, a set of business practices aimed at diversifying the workforce, has been criticized by conservatives as a means to implement reverse discrimination that disadvantages whites and de-emphasizes merit.

Some of the biggest players in corporate America enthusiastically embraced DEI following the May 2020 police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

But public pressure campaigns by right-leaning influencers such as Robby Starbuck have spurred firms to roll back DEI policies.

Walmart, Ford Motor Company, Molson Coors, Jack Daniel’s parent company Brown-Forman, Boeing and Harley Davidson were among some of the major brands that have cut back on DEI initiatives in recent months.

Wikipedia, the free, online collaborative encyclopedia that boasts a whopping 4 billion visits to its website per month, has long maintainedthat it is politically neutral. But studies have found that it is plagued by a left-leaning bias.

Earlier this year, Wikipedia removed reference to Vice President Kamala Harris as a “border czar” in one of its entries after President Joe Biden bowed out of the race and endorsed her to run against Trump.

Harris and her supporters denied that she was a “border czar” despite the fact that Biden assigned her the task of overseeing the administration’s migrant policies during his presidency.

In June, a report by the libertarian Manhattan Institutefound that Wikipedia has a “mild to moderate tendency…to associate public figures ideologically aligned right-of-center with more negative sentiment than public figures ideologically aligned left-of-center.”

Wikipedia articles aboutright-leaning public figuresalso tend to havemore “prevailing associations of negative emotions” such as anger and disgust— in contrast with entries about left-leaning public figures that are more likely to include “positive emotions” such as joy, according to the author’s study.

In May 2012, the American Economic Review published a study which examined 28,000 articles about US politics on Wikipedia. According to the researchers, “Wikipedia’s political entries lean Democrat on average.”

Larry Sanger, who played a role in the launch of Wikipedia alongside Jimmy Wales in 2001, has said that “nobody should trust Wikipedia” because its army of left-leaning volunteers cut out any news that doesn’t fit their political agenda.

In 2021, Sanger told the news site Unherd.com that he agreed with the claim that “teams of Democratic-leaning volunteers” remove content that isn’t to their liking — including the revelations in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal that was first exposed by The Post.

“Can you trust it to always give you the truth? Well, it depends on what you think the truth is,"Sanger said.

Wales and Sanger have been at odds over the site’s founding. Sanger claimed that he co-founded the online encyclopedia alongside Wales.

Wales, for his part, has said that Sanger was a subordinate employee and not a co-founder.

Wikipedia users criticized Wales for going so far as to edit his own biographical Wikipedia entry in order to downplay Sanger’s role in creating the site.

Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO, who is charged with sex trafficking, has dementia, lawyers say

Mike Jeffries, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch who was charged with sex trafficking, has dementia and late-onset Alzheimer’s disease, his legal team said in newly filed court documents.

A neuropsychologist diagnosed Jeffries following several evaluations, according to two filings filed in a New York court on Monday.

Brian H. Bieber, an attorney for Jeffries, began questioning the businessman's attentiveness, competency and focus, the filing states.

"The Michael Jeffries who presented himself did not even come close to resembling a master’s degree-educated individual, who was just nine years earlier, the chief executive officer of a publicly traded company," the document says.

Jeffries was arrested in West Palm Beach, Florida, in October on sex trafficking and interstate prostitution charges. He was released on $10 million bond with a judge ordering that he be confined to home detention with GPS monitoring and prohibiting him from traveling without the proper approval. He also had to surrender his passport.

Jeffries has pleaded not guilty to one count of sex trafficking and 15 counts of interstate prostitution.

The court filing says that Bieber "questioned Mr. Jeffries’ competency to rationally assist—on a sustained and consistent basis—counsel in connection with the possible factual and legal defenses to the allegations he was facing." Bieber advised Jeffries, 80, to seek a neuropsychological evaluation.

A doctor concluded that testing "yielded diagnostic impressions that Mr.Jeffries currently suffers from dementia with behavioral disturbance … Alzheimer’s disease with late onset (probable) … and Lewy body dementia," the filing states. A competency hearing is scheduled for June. (Perversion=dementia eventually)

A federal indictment alleged that Jeffries, his romantic partner Matthew Smith, and James Jacobson operated an "international sex trafficking and prostitution business" from 2008 to 2015. The indictment described Jacobson as a recruiter.

Jeffries, no stranger to controversy, was the popular clothing brand's boss from 1992 to 2014.

According to the indictment, the trio organized "sex events" for Jeffries, Smith and "others" in Italy, England, New York City, St. Barts, Morocco, the Hamptons and France. They allegedly "employed coercive, fraudulent and deceptive tactics in connection with the recruitment, hiring, transportation, obtaining, maintaining, solicitation and payment of the men to engage in commercial sex," the indictment states.

The men who attended the "events" believed it could help their careers or lead to modeling opportunities, and "that not complying with requests for certain acts during the sex events could harm their careers," it says.

Prosecutors said in a detention memo that the youngest of the alleged victims was 19 and that many of them were "financially vulnerable." Some of the men had previously worked at Abercrombie stores or modeled for the company, according to prosecutors. During the events, the men had to surrender their wallets and cellphones and sign nondisclosure agreements, prosecutors said.

Jeffries, Smith and Jacobson are also alleged to have recruited and paid some household staff to "facilitate and supervise the sex events." The staff allegedly provided Jeffries, Smith and the men who attended with muscle relaxants, alcohol, condoms, Viagra and lubricant, according to the indictment.

Prosecutors said that staff was ordered to inject some of the men "a prescription-grade erection-inducing substance for the purpose of causing the men to engage in sex acts in which they were otherwise physically incapable or unwilling."

The men who attended were either paid by Jacobson or the staff, the indictment says. Prosecutors alleged that some men were paid "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in cash.

Prosecutors accused the defendants of hiring a "full-service security company" to conduct background checks and intimidate any alleged victims who threatened to expose or sue them.

At an October news conference, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace saidJeffries and Smith spent millions on the alleged sex trafficking enterprise. Jacobson allegedly had the victims engage in commercial sex acts with him during "tryouts" held before the sex events, Peace said.

Burn it all down: Jill consumed by vengeance as she prepares her White House exit…. 1/2

By now, most of us understand that the real “force” behind the day-to-day operations inside the White House was Jill Biden. Let’s be honest—Joe wasn’t capable of much, whether it was finding his way off a four-foot stage or leading the so-called free world. Jill was the one making key decisions that impacted not only our lives but also the very existence of the United States on the world stage—all without any political, business, or negotiating experience.

This was an article written back in July 2024, revealing that Jill Biden was the “real” (fake) president.

Jill Biden is becoming the Edith Wilson of America.

Edith Wilson was President Woodrow Wilson’s second wife. She ran the country for a year and a half after Wilson was incapacitated following a massive stroke in 1919.

The public never knew.

This is not to say that First Lady Jill Biden, 73, is running the country today. It is to point out that she is running Joe Biden, 81, which may amount to the same thing.

Edith Wilson’s first move after Wilson’s debilitating stroke was to mislead the nation regarding the bedridden Wilson’s ability to function, let alone continue to serve as president.

The stroke was of such an intensity that it incapacitated Wilson, leaving him permanently paralyzed on the left side of his body and blind in one eye.

While Wilson was confined to his White House bed and barely conscious or rational, Edith Wilson, in effect, took over the presidency—and the country.

Even after Wilson went from a sick bed to a wheelchair, his health continued to deteriorate. His mind wandered and his memory diminished.

There was no 25th Amendment to allow for the replacement of an incapacitated president as there is now. That amendment was only passed in 1967.

And back then, thanks to his loyal wife, nobody outside of the White House knew what a basket case Wilson was, including the press and the public. He died at age 67 in 1924 after leaving the White House.

Before that, Edith Wilson became sort of acting president. She allowed only a few trusted friends to see the bedridden Wilson.

Those prohibited from seeking and conferring with President Wilson included genial Vice President Thomas P. Marshall, Cabinet members and members of Congress.

If they had policy issues or other business with the president, they would present the matters to Edith Wilson, and she would then allegedly confer with the stricken president and return with a decision.

Whether the decisions were President Wilson’s or hers remained an open question.

Edith Wilson, who died in 1961 at age 89, later denied making any decisions regarding public affairs. “The only decision that was mine,” she said, “was what was important and what was not, and the very important decision of when to present the matters to my husband.”

Translatedthat means that to get to the president on important matters of state you had to get to the unelected president’s wife first, not the vice president, the Speaker of the House or the President of the Senate.

Edith Wilson became the “first” woman president, the unelected decider in chief.

It also means that an unelected individual cannot get much more powerful than that in this representative democracy.

Joe Biden is nowhere as bad off as Wilson was, despite his obvious decline both physically and mentally. He will continue to get worse, not better. He will not do any better at a second presidential debate. Time does not work that way.

And as demands that he not seek re-election continue to persist, the role ofJill Biden as the president’s hovering caretaker and advisor have become Edith Wilson-like. Biden can barely walk or talk without her at his side.

One way out of his dilemma, and the dilemma of the troubled Democrat Party—as well as for the good of the country — is for Joe Biden to step aside and nominate Jill Biden for president.

A Jill Biden for president – a woman! — would give Donald Trump something to worry about.

Biden could do it at the Democrat Party convention in Chicago in August by turning all his delegates over to Jill Biden…

With all that in mind, it’s no surprise that the “fakest” president of all time is fuming over being so crudely stripped of her power.
