Gig work is part of the problem. I consulted for 7 years, there is no future in it. Not my choice, but I am not one of the blood lines that get a permanent job on Wall street so consulting was my only opportunity. Two economies for a reason as you just read with the banker who didn't get his $1 million dollar bonus. They got him for cheap, and took his IP and contacts probably, then through him out in the street once they usurped it. When you consult in IT what you are doing, is being the brains, problem solver, innovator, and implementor for the cabal lackey croney who gets to fire you and throw you out on the streets after they get your value. I have seen it all.
