Army Troops Flood NYC’s Subway as Crime Spikes. NY to Enforce ‘Congestion’ Tax on Cars

New York real estate specialist Cash Jordan reported that there are now more National Guard soldiers down in the subway system than following 9/11. An additional 250 soldiers are taking up positions, adding to the 750 already in place in the New York City Transit System; without the soldiers, the public would be in more danger. The increased military is intended as a show of force to deter crime and reassure riders, however, the military is only stationed at subway entrances and do not ride the trains, and patrols on the platforms are limited. Criminal Justice Reform and defunding the police has been a failure as criminals who are arrested for assault are released back into society without going to jail. Since the pandemic, murder is up 200%, felony assault is up 55% and burglary is up 140%, yet officials report that overall crime has decreased by 12% that critics find suspect. The Daniel Penny/ Jordan Neely case brought national attention to crime on the subway and how Good Samaritans can be prosecuted and punished for helping to protect the public.

New York will enforce its new “congestion” tax on cars entering the city in 2025 that will discourage individuals from driving and force them into the subway. Subway fares are set to increase that will be added to the $20 billion budget.
