The original mission of the Central Intelligence Agency, when created by the National Security Act of 1947, was collecting intelligence, but for 77 years, it has conducted covert and para-military operations around the world. Most of us believe that the CIA is the heart of the Deep State which runs our government, irrespective of whomever “we the People” may elect to office. The techniques the CIA developed and perfected overseas include toppling governments and are usually described as “Operations” or “Projects.

FBI identifies suspected terrorist in New Orleans attack, says ISIS flag found.

The suspect was named as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who was killed in a firefight with police. The FBI says he may have had help.

Republicans propose senior tax exemption as Democrats contemplate raising rates.

Amid a push to raise the annual cap on property tax increases statewide, Sen. Phil Fortunato, R-Auburn, wants the Legislature to exempt around 500,000 senior citizens altogether.

Fortunato proposed Senate Bill 5020 earlier this month. If approved, the measure would exempt all “real property” owned by individuals over 75 years old. According to 2023 U.S. Census data, more than 487,000 Washingtonians, or about 6.3% of the state population, fall within that range.
