There appear to be a great deal of powerful people attempting to follow the ebbs and flows of daily minutia, to eek profits wherever possible, rather than actually having a real understanding of what it is that they're doing in this world.

I warned you that surveillance was dangerous. A society which has lost so much faith in humanity that it feels compelled to treat everyone, everywhere, as an antagonistic force, always, is a society which has lost the moral purpose necessary to persist.
