BAKER NOTABLE

Since it crashed so close to Fullerton Municipal Airport, checked all departures in the last couple of hours on flight aware. Only one remains unaccounted for. So I think that is your crash aircraft. A 2000 Vans RV-6 owned by Michael P Divan. N64GH.

The site of impact lines up with the centerline of the runway. He was trying to make it back and came up short. What I'm having difficulty understanding is why the ADS-B track terminated where it did. Coverage is very good in the area and should have followed him all the way back. Can only conclude that something happened, likely electrical, that caused the ADS to stop broadcasting. The last few data points do show the aircraft descending and increasing speed. So it does appear that there was some sort of problem. Which tends to confirm that this was the crash aircraft.
