am not on any side but interested in understanding your argument.

what is meant by superstitious? anything that assumes there is more to life than flatland materialism? or do you object to the doctrines of organized religion in general or to any religion in particular?

re belief:

We all have beliefs.

Blind belief is one thing.

Belief based upon experience is another.

Thoughts?

get your point.

have listened to the words.

it's not the only song like that.

there are plenty.

Trump likes Rolling Stones, don't have to tell you what they sing about.

We are born into a culture and get caught up in it when young.

Then form associations based on things like music, art, etc.

Even when the culture is distorted, there are bits of truth that come thru, we do what we can with what we have.

Rock music in general has been criticized for having a debilitating effect

although not true of this song, the rock beat (with emphasis in 4/4 on the third beat) has been criticized as unhealthy for decades by some

music does have a profound effect on the psyche

I prefer organic music, lament the fact that people in America not longer sing in public just for fun.

It's gonna take a while to rediscover what we've lost.

there are other songs i didn't like coz seemed stupid or depressing ("You're So Vain")

agree with you in principle, kek
