I bought a bag of hard candy
when I got home I realized that the wrappers would shred as I tried to pull them off the candies as the were stuck to them.
and so after realizing that there was no way to eat these I brought them back.
I get there and there are two young girls (high school or college age) and one of them doesn't know what to do for my 7 dollar return.
She calls over this one one who says 'The don't have to take them back' at which point I was like 'what do you mean you don't have to take them back, of course you have to take them back. They aren't any good, well, they taste good but if I eat them I'll be eating plastic . . .
"Well technically we don't have to take them back because they are open" And I'm like "of course you have to take them back. they are hazzardous.
So she calls over the 'dad' manager who is like doing his 'calm down' bit. But I was just being emphatic. I'm thinking "They aren't really going to try and not give my my money back are they?"
He wants to make it into a confrontation.
I'm telling him how I'm not a bad person but there are peole who would send in their friends to buy the same product and then sue that company and he needs to go and take all that product off the shelf immediately and send her (the bossy girl) back to training.
He's still doing the 'angry dad how dare you' bit.
no apology. three against one.
for a 7 dollar back of not-safe-to eat candy.
I was very angry when I left there.
They refunded and didn't give me a reciept so I went back in and grapped it and yanked out of the girls hand.
no apologies from any of them like I was a bad person for telling them that 'the customer is always right' and that the clerk was doing a control freak bit.
