I believe they are just burning the houses of all the pedo's because no one lives in them anymore, they are just sitting there, collecting dust…
All the pedo's in that area have been dealt with…so, burn all the abandoned houses.
That way, no one can move in, and find out where the original owner disappeared somewhere.
Hard to find Tom Hanks if his house burned down and hasn't been seen in a long time…
