Brigid, also known as Brigit, was a pagan goddess from pre-Christian Ireland who represented many aspects of life, including healing, poetry, and smithing:
Healing: Symbolized by water
FIRE: THE ALCHEMICAL FORCE OF FIRE
Poetry: Represents every woman and their unique talents, skills, and qualities
Fertility: Associated with domesticated animals

Wisdom: A beloved goddess of poets
Brigid's feast day was February 1st, the ancient pagan festival of Imbolc, which celebrated the end of winter and the coming of spring. She was worshipped with bonfires that were thought to hasten the coming of spring.
Brigid's name comes from the Proto-Celtic word Briganti, which means “the High One” or “the Exalted One”. She is also known as Brigantia, Brid, Bride, Briginda, and Brigdu.
Brigid's popularity grew to the point where she became closely associated with the Virgin Mary, and was given the title “Foster Mother of Jesus”. However, it's still debated whether St. Brigid was a Christianization of the Celtic goddess or if she took on her persona to gain popularity.
