Agreed.
Subsonic is short range work, just past easy pistol range, and therefore dangerous, but you're also fairly quiet and can hide.
Anon has always been in favor of disabling shots when possible, if for no other reason than to demoralize the enemy.
Having half a dozen guys out of a group fail to return strikes one kind of fear, but seeing them come back maimed and disabled is even scarier.
That is one downside.
