Not trying to get too nerdy…but a command @ control satellite used to control the drones over the east coast…would need to be in geosynchronous orbit to be able to have continuous direct line of sight to these drones and wouldn't be visible to the naked eye.
Unless there was a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that were relaying command and control to these drones (GPS, Starlink,…) but if that's the case…taking out one should not disable the system.
