Jamie Mannina is an experienced national security expert who has worked on many of the most challenging national security policy issues facing the U.S, government. Mannina served as a staffer to
Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, as a diplomat in the U.S. Department of State, and as a manager in
the U.S. intelligence community. Currently, he serves at the Joint Staff at the Department of Defense.
Areas of expertise include China and Russia, cybersecurity and counterintelligence, nuclear
disarmament and nonproliferation, and the full range of strategic stability issues affecting national
security. Most notably, his work directly supported the negotiation, ratification, and implementation
of the U.S.-Russia New START Treaty under President Obama. He has studied at the U.S. Foreign
Service Institute, Harvard University, and National Taiwan University. Mannina earned a BA in political science from Le Moyne College and an MA in international relations from George Washington University.
