Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed relatives of hostages kidnapped by Hamas that the end of the war in Gaza is near, amid reports that a ceasefire and hostage exchange deal has been reached. A formal deal could be announced within hours, he has said.

Axios reports Wednesday morning, "A breakthrough has been reached in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Doha and a deal to release hostages held by Hamas and establish a ceasefire in Gaza is imminent, three Israeli officials told Axios."

"There is a breakthrough in the hostage deal negotiations in Doha. Hamas' military leader in Gaza Mohammed Sinwar gave his OK," one Israeli official was cited as saying. And importantly, a statement from Trump's team:

The CDC, Palantir And The AI-Healthcare Revolution

The CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics (CFA) has partnered with the CIA-linked Palantir to cement the public-private model of invasive surveillance in “public health,” all while pushing the U.S. national security state and Silicon Valley even closer together.

The Pentagon and Silicon Valley are in the midst of cultivating an even closer relationship as the Department of Defense (DoD) and Big Tech companies seek to jointly transform the American healthcare system into one that is “artificial intelligence (AI)-driven.” The alleged advantages of such a system, espoused by the Army itself, Big Tech and Pharma executives as well as intelligence officers, would be unleashed by the rapidly developing power of so-called “predictive medicine,” or “a branch of medicine that aims to identify patients at risk of developing a disease, thereby enabling either prevention or early treatment of that disease.”

This will apparently be achieved via mass interagency data sharing between the DoD, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the private sector. In other words, the military and intelligence communities, as well as the public and private sector elements of the US healthcare system, are working closely with Big Tech to “predict” diseases and treat them before they occur (and even before symptoms are felt) for the purported purpose of improving civilian and military healthcare.

This cross-sector team plans to deliver this transformation of the healthcare system by first utilizing and sharing the DoD’s healthcare dataset, which is the most “comprehensive…in the world.” It seems, however, based on the programs that already utilize this predictive approach and the necessity for “machine learning” in the development of AI technology, that this partnership would also massively expand the breadth of this healthcare dataset through an array of technologies, methods and sources.

Yet, if the actors and institutions involved in lobbying for and implementing this system indicate anything, it appears that another—if not primary—purpose of this push towards a predictive AI-healthcare infrastructure is the resurrection of a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)-managed and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)-supported program that Congress officially “shelved” decades ago. That program, Total Information Awareness (TIA), was a post 9/11 “pre-crime” operation which sought to use mass surveillance to stop terrorists before they committed any crimes through collaborative data mining efforts between the public and private sector.

While the “pre-crime” aspect of TIA is the best known component of the program, it also included a component that sought to use public and private health and financial data to “predict” bioterror events and pandemics before they emerge. This was TIA’s “Bio-Surveillance” program, which aimed to develop “necessary information technologies and a resulting prototype capable of detecting the covert release of a biological pathogen automatically, and significantly earlier than traditional approaches.” Its architects argued it would achieve this by “monitoring non-traditional data sources” including “pre-diagnostic medical data” and “behavioral indicators.” While ostensibly created to thwart “bioterror” events, the program also sought to create algorithms for identifying “normal” disease outbreaks, essentially seeking to automate the early detection of either biological attacks or natural pathogen outbreaks, ranging from pandemics to presumably other, less severe disease events.

The Adelsons played a crucial role in crafting Trump’s pro-Israel protocols, such as recognizing Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights and moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

Miriam Adelson, billionaire donor and longstanding supporter of Donald Trump, was crucial in persuading the president-elect to push Hamas to accept a hostage agreement, Israeli journalist Ben Caspit (Maariv) reported.

Adelson, who at times commanded extraordinary influence over US-Israel relations, reportedly lobbied Trump to take bold action, utilizing her close relationship with the president-elect.

According to Caspit, Adelson’s activism was decisive in persuading Trump to issue what in December was a grave public warning to Hamas, demanding that it release the hostages it had taken. Trump had recently taken to social media, declaring, “The hostages are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will… Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied history of the United States of America. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!”

The reports underscore Adelson’s strategic role in US-Israel diplomacy through her relationship with Trump and claim that her influence has helped shape substantial decisions.

Watchdog Finds Global Increase In Violence And Discrimination Against Christians

Christians around the world are facing increased violence and threats because of their faith, according to a new watchdog report shared with The Daily Wire.

Open Doors, an organization dedicated to aiding persecuted Christians, released its annual report on persecution on Wednesday, finding that 380 million believers worldwide face high levels of persecution or discrimination for their faith. This was a steep increase from its 2024 report, which found that 365 million Christians faced intense levels of persecution.

The report found that in 2024, 4,476 Christians were killed for their faith, including 3,100 in Nigeria; 3,944 were sexually assaulted, or forcibly married; 54,780 Christians were physically or mentally abused; 209,771 were forced to leave their homes; and 4,744 were sentenced to prison for their beliefs.

For the last 32 years, the organization has ranked the top 50 worst countries for persecution of Christians. The top offender this year was again communist North Korea, where the state aggressively cracks down on religious expression. The other countries rounding out the top ten include Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, Eritrea, Nigeria, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan.

“At one level, it shouldn’t be a surprise at all there is persecution,” Open Doors President Ryan Brown told The Daily Wire. “When you take a look at the very birth of the church, if you read the New Testament, you see that the majority of the New Testament was written to those experiencing persecution or written by those experiencing persecution.”

Brown said that while persecution in Malaysia increased in the last year, it still fell out of the top 50 because the targeting of Christians had increased even more in other countries.

“The things that, even just a year ago, were severe enough to have a country on that list on top 50, this year it wasn’t enough,” Brown said. “That global picture actually worsened.”

When ranking countries, Open Doors considers a number of factors including government policies, community practices, and whether Christians are able to do things like go to church and own a Bible.

The two countries that were new to the top 50 this year were Chad and Kyrgyzstan, which saw the most dramatic increase in persecution of any country.

Brown also noted that violence against Christians is trending upward in sub-Saharan Africa, where Christians are often targeted by Islamic extremists. He urged people to join the “Arise Africa” campaign, which seeks to bring awareness to the widespread persecution in the region.

In Mexico, Brown said the situation for Christians had worsened because of cartel violence directed at churches upset they were undermining their illicit activities.

“As folks move away from drugs and become engaged in the church, it’s bad for their business,” he said. “So the church has come under direct attack from the cartels in Mexico.”

Families seek justice after a raid on Balata camp in the West Bank resulted in the death of an 80-year-old woman and another civilian

The ambulance pulls up on a narrow street at the Balata Palestinian refugee camp in Nablus in the West Bank, seemingly no different from one of the many emergency vehicles that drive in the area every day. But then five armed Israeli soldiers emerge from the vehicle, going on to take part in a raid that results in the death of two civilians, including an 80-year-old woman, in an incident that Israel’s army admitted constituted “a serious offence … [and] violation of existing orders and procedures”.

The Guardian has reviewed video captured by a surveillance camera, spoken with witnesses and a survivor of the military operation, conducted by the IDF on 19 December 2024 using a hospital vehicle with Palestinian licence plates. It was described by rights groups as a “flagrant violation” of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the use of medical vehicles to carry out military attacks that result in injury or death of people.

Harrowing testimonies reveal systemic torture and abuse of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, with urgent calls for international action.

The Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights has made an urgent appeal to the international community to investigate the violations endured by dozens of Palestinian detainees held at Israel’s notorious Sde Teiman detention camp, the Quds News Network (QNN) has reported.

This demand follows a visit by the organization’s attorney to the camp on January 8, 2025, which revealed horrific details of systematic torture and inhumane treatment of the detainees.

The detainees, who were arrested from Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, testified being brutally beaten in various forms from the moment of their arrest, the report said.

In addition, they were placed in large pits and led to believe they were about to be buried alive. Al-Dameer stated that the detainees were held at the Sde Teman camp in inhumane conditions for up to five days. During this time, they were handcuffed and blindfolded without access to food or water.
